    News Fuel Rewards

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that Safeway has been having issues with their fuel rewards. If it does not tell you how much you have earned toward the next reward on the bottom of your receipt it is not in the system and not counted.

To fix the problem just call the 800 number at the bottom of your receipt and they can enter it in manually. I have had to do it twice and they just manually adjusted it both times.
Hope this info. helps someone out.

We just used our fuel rewards on Wednesday (we do not live close to a Safeway Gas :frown:-went to Portland for a Costco run). We had 7 rewards so we were able to get .70 off each gallon, making our gas $2.77 a gallon, wahoo!! They had to run my card 3 times before it came up with more then the normal .03 off a gallon and then it only lets you get 35 gallons of gas at that discount (just a heads up). We took our truck and 2 five gallon gas cans.
My safeway receipt says the accumulation ends 9/30/08, does this mean that I have to use the rewards before then?? If not how long till they have to be used and does it start accumulating again after that date??

Your PowerPump rewards expire at the end of each quarter. At my local SW existing gas Rewards expire on 3/28/09, 6/20/09, 9/12/09, 1/2/10. I can purchase up to $100 or 30 gallons, whichever comes first, per transaction. Limit one vehicle per transaction, when using PowerPump Rewards. So be sure to use them up before they vanish. Additional information can be found here PowerPump Rewards Locator If you sign up for the SW FastForward program you can get double credit or 20c per gallon.

I am going to write a comment card since I never even got to use my $25 in rewards since our store gave out cards for Arco and there are none within 50 miles of our town. However, there are Safeway pumps at the two closest cities and they didn't give us cards to use there. Our cards state: Redeem at Arco. It's really disappointing since I spent a lot of money to get these rewards(actually, mostly a lot of time planning so I could spend the least amount of money to get the reward).

I don't see anything online to sign up for this...is it something I need to call for?

I have the same issue with the Arco card. We never used it at the Safeway pumps because those were too far away and dh would never have put 'Safeway' gas in his car, but now that they're on the ARCO, we find out that although there are several ARCO's near us, the closest ARCO that accepts the card is more than 15 miles from the store (one way). So, I've got $9 of free gas, but I'm going to spend a gallon and a half (and a huge bunch of time) to get it? (yes, we drive 2 guzzlers).
