SAD Cashier had to sign form: NO MORE IP's

My Randall's cashier told me he just had to sign a form that he would no longer accept IP's, due to the fraudulent ones out there, or he could lose his job. He wanted me to know, since I always have coupons. Said it is chain-wide, not just that store. They are supposed to make up a book of the OK ones to accept, but he didn't know how long that would take. I mentioned the different bar codes on mine, and he said the fraudulent ones had that too. Needless to say, I am bummed!

I knew those Facebook ones were going to ruin it for everyone! My 2 closest Sfwys have not taken IPs since I started couponing in May :(

Oh this is rediculas. I hear this same kind of thing being said here and there... and I DO NOT believe it is chain-wide. They would have to take down the corporate printing of coupons from their own website if this were the case. Of course, the stance of corporate has always been that it is up to the individual store managers and division managers to create store coupon policies, and as such they do not have a corp. level coupon policy. I have been told this by both the stores and corp CS people many times over the years. I would say this will be YMMV depending on the store. Thank goodness, in my stores, I am able to use IPs... just did this morning, without a single second glance.

Ditto. I haven't had any problems lately.

Just got back from Safeway, SCO, I rolled my Glade cats for Nature Valley ones. In addition, I purchased 5 pillsbury rolls for the 5 off promo and used 5 1.00/1 IP. They went thru fine but before I was done, the register ran out of tape. The cashier in charge came over to change the tape and looked thru my Qs as well. She called a Manager over, he looked and said they were fine! Maybe the "list" is out?

Definitely not chain wide! Everything I used today to get from $90 to $3 was an IP. They're full of bull.

The rule at my local Vons is that any IP that does NOT scan is not accepted. Since the TGIFs will not scan I am SOL on that deal. They still accept IPs.

Hey I work as a cashier [at Safeway] in Arizona.
We are (in my district, at least) still accepting IP coupons.
EXCEPT for ones which on it say "Retailer: this is a v[blahblah] coupon."
I cannot remember the exact name (something like vlyd i think? ) but it's an online coupon site whose database/whatever got hacked and is no longer honoring their coupons.

I love my Phoenix, AZ Safeway cashiers!

I shop at 3 different Safeways and have rarely had a problem using any Qs - If not accepting IPs becomes more widespread, I am in serious trouble, b/c I am now addicted to TAVA - and can't afford it without a Q!

I haven't been in about a week but have never had any issues. Even when they don't scan they generally just type them in. Thank goodness!
