its not in an ad anywhere..just a little sign in the card area....

yes you can do it multiple times..but only 5 cards per transaction with a maximum of 5$

Since i posted this deal on sd..i would like to mention that i messed up and posted it incorrectly...its actually buy 4 cards get 5$...so that means maybe 1$ overage if you get 4 .99 cent cards....wooohooo..also their are some exclusions.

oh some peeps on the other forum have said that their signs have said "Buy 2, Get $2, Buy 3, Get $3, Buy 4, get $4." So this deal for the overage maybe regional...still free cards aint bad.

I tried this tonight and no go. The sign said buy 4, get 5.00 off. Reciept says 4 Hlmk cards and it didn't take anything off. I am going to try again tommorrow by buying 5 cards and seeing what happens. I returned the 4 cards and got 4.25 back. I did the Tava in the same transaction and got the pepsi 4.00 off so I know it wasn't a club card issue.

I tried this tonight and it was a no go. I ended up holding up the line for a long time as they tried to figure it out by getting the sign and reading every thing and so on. I had read you can do it multiple times per transaction so had a few groups of 4 which had to be returned. The cashier was tired as it was past her bedtime. I felt sorry for her.

What a mess.

If this works for anyone please post how it worked. According to the sign which was in the .99 cards it should work. My cashier thought it would print as a catalina. I thought it would take it off of total. It didn't do either. She manually refunded $5 for 1 group of 4. The assistant manager said only the maximum $5 per day per Safeway card could be done.
