I feel your frustration... and in fact have been there. I must say, great for pointing out what the beep meant... but honestly, when you said a "training issue" (though correct) he took offense. If you have a different SW you can go to, or pick a time to shop with a different crew, do it. The one thing that drives me nuts about safeway and their "coupon policy" is that it changes at whim... depends on who is cashiering, who is manager... and it is so hard to play by any rules. If they would just adopt an across the board coupon policy at the corporate level and then train down the line, it would be so nice. But that's not how it works... so... I find a good manager and a few favorite cashiers and try to stick with them.
On a side note, one of our three SWs recently got the self scan machines, and WOO HOO! It is so easy... if the coupon doesn't go through, i just call over the lady who is manning the area, and she deals with it. Since I started trying that, I've not had a Single coupon shot down. I LOVE IT!
