Man that's harsh! If you have added an eQ to your card there is no way to stop it from being applied, what if you found a better Manu Q, or the Manu Q will be better because it doubles?
I am in Oregon and I was in Safeway yesterday and had both EQ's and Man. Q's on Poptarts...My Man. Q beeped on the poptart and she immediately went to the screen and looked and found an eq on the poptarts, at that point she refused my Man. Q and stated that Safeway has changed their policy as of October 6th to not accept eq's and man. q's on 1 item.
So if you have been having issues on both of them....This may be the problem. I haven't had a chance to check and see if they have updated their policy but this is what I was told.

I have heard rumors that this is going to start changing at a lot more stores. Us hard core couponers will probably stop using e-coupons because we know the manufacture coupons are usually better, will double at stores that double and we have more control over them than the e-coupons.

Thats exactly what I have started doing Heidi....Not adding the Eq's to my card. It's just not worth the hassle at the register.
Maybe it will turn out to be a pain for them at the register? You could ask them to do it as a separate transaction without your club card and using the Manu Q.

I am in the Chicagoland area and this new policy has been in effect for at least a month now. If you have an e coupon, you can not use a paper coupon. The paper coupon will beep and they will not accept it. I have not checked myself yet, but I have read that if you go to cellfire or shortcuts you can not even load them to your Dominicks (Chicagoland equivalent to Safeway) card anymore. Policy also holds true for their "just for U" program too, according to what the cashier told the customer in front of me the other day.
I am in the Peoria area of Illinois and as of last week (my most recent trip) at Kroger, there's no beeping using e-q & MQ together. Recently I used a Campbell's MQ and was unaware I had an e-q loaded for the same thing.
I'm not debating the ethics or rules of using the two together, just stating facts about how the register handled the transaction.
DH: "How many bottles of shampoo does a household need to have on hand?"
Me: "At least 27."
When I added my eQ I went directly to the cellfire website, I just noticed that the Safeway website no longer has links to cellfire & shortcuts (or P&G for that matter). They seem to have now moved to "Just for U" eQ's for everybody, I thought this previously only applied to Hawaii.

Who knows....It looks like this stuff changes daily LOL!
I think I am just going to wait on loading any until this is all sorted out. Just not worth it in my book!
