$10 off $50 purchase problem

I need a little advice. They've recently changed the wording on the $10 off $50 that appeared in the Oregonian and Statesman Journal last week. I went in tonight (last day it is valid) with a carefully planned trip, only to find that they wouldn't honor my coupon.

The new wording excludes Safeway store coupons and club card savings (and many other things I avoided), but does not mention manufacturer coupons. However, my total was less than $50 after manufacturer coupons, and that was the reason I was given why my coupon wouldn't work.

Am I overreacting or is this worth calling corporate over? If their new policy excludes manufacturer coupons, I'm okay with that, but I think it should be listed on the coupon as an exclusion.

They in fact did NOT honor their own coupon, with their own wording, you were trying to follow it.

I in fact have used that Q minus all exclusions
liquid dairy, store Q, club card etc etc etc so including doubler hit at $51.xx take off $10. then manu Q total well under $40. when done.

Were you trying to roll any frozen food promo cats?
They are actually store Q's btw

If you did not talk to store manager yet I would have a very rational discussion with the mgr. laid out that you adhere to all the rules and do NOT appreciate the same courtesy.

Just happened to me last night.. GRR! First time ever. I was sure I was over 50 after but they claimed all my man. Q's were safeway coupons. I laughed paid for it and told the girl she needs to review her position. Manager also denied it also and told me to go to CS at 9am. Ugh this stinks because I'm sure the main manager is going to deny it. But it is after safeway coupons not man. Q's so I'll be calling corp if they deny it. I want my 10 dollars

Thanks, Jen. I purposely did not roll ANY other cats into this deal, as I was rejected earlier in the week trying to use the frozen food one (silly me - thought it was a mfr coupon!)

Guess I'll call tomorrow. I needed today to gather my thoughts so I could sound like the rational person I am.

I've had the same problem with my local store (Woodburn) I sent a NASTY email and got a call from the store manager. I've been so busy I never called him back. Haven't set foot in the store since (told them in my email I don't have to shop there, Walmart is around the corner). I've had no problems with the store in Tigard/King City.

How would I go about contacting my store manager through email? I checked the site but only saw "comments and questions" as a source of contacting them. I'dd rather email them then deal with it instore.
