I am not normally a safeway shopper (tend to stick with albies where they will MAKE my deals work for me!)

So I couldnt pass up the deals, and I was in desperate need of trash bags. I looked (or at least I think I did) the items up online before I went, so maybe someone can catch something I didnt. The cat. machine had a green light on, but NOTHING printed. I went to CS and was told that I didnt get the Arrowhead b/c it was the wrong type, and that my total had to be $30 AFTER all coupons...huh?!? I had completely forgotten about the bertolli when I was at CS.

So here it is:

They always say that when they are clueless. It looks to me like you got enough to print the cat. Try calling catalina tomorrow, they should be able to help you.
Yesterday, a checker warned my DH that the cat would not print if he used q's, he assured her it would be fine and of course it was.There is always a reason the cat doesn't print and it has nothing to do with manufacturer coupons!!! Wrong product, not meeting the goal total required, machine not working, etc.

Catalina-1-888-826-8766. I just checked against the list and it looks like everything should be correct. The Bertolli cat "may" be over, but you may get a $2 for that too. I think there's one for the Arrowhead also, but that's in another thread and I didn't pay close attention since I don't buy bottled water.

So yeah, call tommorrow and have your receipt handy. SOunds like their catalina machine wasn't working. I have a lot of trouble at another store where their machines frequently don't work. I often times will walk around the end of the cashiers and look for ones where I actually see catalinas hanging out of the machine. Then I can be pretty sure it's working before I check out.

Another great Item to purchase at this time if you have coupons is the capri sun Sunrise drinks. I did a deal a few times today that included capri sun and the Electrasol. The capri sun had a $1.00 coupon this last sunday paper and the electrasol had a $2.50 coupon in the sunday paper. I now have 16 capri sun and 5 electrasol and 3 lipton ice tea 12paks. I went twice and the total was 32.00 oop was around 6.00. with another $10.00 catalina print. I have 14 more capri sun coupons left so tomorrow my transaction will look like this 14 capri sun $27.86 one electrasol $3.99 equals $31.85 -$14.00 (capri sun coupons) -$2.50 (electrasol coupon) = $15.35 -$10.00 catalina that I have from last purchase so oop is $5.35 and I will receive another $10.00 catalina. wee I luv this.

Be careful to not count those Safeway coupons (Bright Green, LW booklet, Super Coupons) in on your $30. FOR ME, the use of them has effected my total. They deduct from the $30, not the total.

That said, it looks to me like you were high enough over the $30 for it to have worked. I've been getting a Fashion Bug and Oil Change catalina coupon in every order... did you even get those? If you call the Catalina company, they can tell you if the machine was functional or not.

Looks right to me! I've bought everything in that list except the trash bags and had it work. I even got a cat for $2 on the Arrowhead, but that deal expired Sunday I believe. The Bertolli might have expired Sunday as well, as I know a bunch of them were coming up to expire.

I of course didn't check to see if the cat machine was working b4 I checked out, and it was out of paper, so I had to go to cs, and they ended up giving me a $10 giftcard instead! Yay! no expiration dates! On the otherhand, this one particular cashire does not like me! She was trying to talk the cs lady into not giving me anything b/c I paid with a LW cat. My oop was $1.44 and I should have gotten the new cat, making money! She was not too thrilled! I was ecstatic! From now on I will be checking the machines b4 hand.
