Default trading gift cards?

Hi all-

I've traded Q's for a while, but never gift cards.

Are there any unspoken rules I should know about? Is it ok to ask for the face value? Less, if so, how much less?

Do I ship for free via first class, priority?

I've got a couple that I won't use, and one is only $10, so the gift card buying website won't buy it.

Any help you can give would be great.

Ok, I am gonna try to answer ths the best way I can and another MOD can jump in to save me if I am wrong.

But yes, you can trade gift cards on the forum. Most trade g.c for g.c or for coupons. I have seen many post for face value but end up dropping the price a few $'s to move it out the door.

When mailing something as high $ as this, I personally would mail it with a dc# on it so it can be tracked. (You would hate for it to come up missing etc.) but you can mail however you feel comfortable doing. There is a few posts right now in the trade forum for gift cards so Im sure you can see how they are working there trades for reference.

Hopefully I answered the questions you had. You can always pm any of the trade mods anytime if you have questions.

I think jennifer got you covered! If you do decide to post them for trade, and you're looking to trade them for other gift cards, you can post that right in Current Trades just like a coupon trade. Good luck!

I've traded gift cards on the boards with a value of up to $25 for other gift cards and mailed in a card through regular mail without any problems. Gift cards from Subway and Starbucks can be added to another gift card online-in those cases, I have sent and received the card # and code from the back of the gift card -it is just as easy as adding Amazon codes to an account. I currently have a trading partner who emails me when he wins Speedway giftcards and I trade him my Starbucks wins. Speedway and other retailers will allow you to add gift card balances from one card to another, over the phone-so we save on postage.

Be prepared to have people offer significantly less than the face value of the giftcards-REMEMBER, it is an OFFER, you do not have to accept. So far, I have only traded gift card for gift card-if I understood how Paypal works better, I would trade for paypal $ as a gift with a discounted value based on the giftcard trading websites as a guide.

Check the feedback for anyone before you trade and crosscheck with the bad trader board before sending-it's a good rule in any trade-but I am extra careful when trading giftcards.

Good trading-I'll be looking for your post.
