what to do about a non responsive trader?

Someone initiated a trade on Monday I think and this is a reason why I think private messages are not good for trading. I've sent the trader 3 private messages asking how many of the coupons they have and what they want in stamps, total, for the coupons. The only answer I'm getting, is "are you still wanting the coupons?" and their address for me to mail stamps.
Do 3 PM's in two days fail to get delivered?
The other trader is fairly new, well, 0 feedback, but I am helpless to get the info needed to complete the trade.

what to do?
forget it?
let them think I'm the problem on my end?

With any trade issues, you can contact a bad trade mod
(bugface711, tacatcon, suesavings or phmom)

You should probably talk to them about it, forward the pms between the two of you. If this happens to be a trader they've been getting complaints about, this may help them do something about it faster.

This has nothing to do with the PM system, but the trader you're dealing with, I'd walk away now.

If I don't hear back, I don't bother. You can always click the box for a read receipt at the bottom before you send a PM. If you see they are reading your messages and not responding, don't bother. There is always someone else to trade with around here!

Not trying to argue with you, but from another point of view....

I usually appreciate a second pm. Somedays I get bombarded with them. I'll read what I get, and sometimes I don't always get to answer them all right away, occasionally forgetting to respond to one or two.

No worries, I totally get it. I'm guilty of the same!

OP said she has sent 3 PMs though.

BUT, if the trader has a zero feedback, and IS a member of TNT, they may just not know how to proceed. The value of stamps varies around here. Some people trade em like crazy, and I hoard mine like they're goin' out of style. Perhaps the other trader is not sure how many stamps to ask for or whatever and is scared to ask for help? If you really want the coupons, make an offer in stamps and see if that gets you anywhere.

If it's been that many PM's, then forget the trade. I agree with the PP who said that it isn't the system, it's the trader.

I don't want to beat a dead horse but this does not sound like a problem with private messages. maybe the other trader's first language isn't English, maybe they are confused as to how to trade, but sounds like you could get the same reply via email as you did via PM.

I would personally walk away after 3 PMs

However please PM me with who it is and if it's someone who may need a little help figuring out trading and how to proceed, I can offer them some help.

I can vouch that there are system problems with pms. I've sent several and they were never received. It is super annoying.
