| Re: ¨*:•.-:¦:- TRADING FAQ's ¨*:•.-:¦:- Please Start Here. Most trading questions answered in this thread. Q: How do I determine what a coupon is worth? A: The first rule of thumb is that any trade where you share coupons you cannot use, or have a surplus of, for coupons that you do need is a great trade. Most traders have a set way they like to trade. If you do not, try a few things and see what works for you. Traders may ask you to trade $ for $. that means you send $20 worth to them and they send $20 worth to you regardless of how many coupons it takes to make up that amount. Some traders prefer coupon for coupon. This means you decide on a number of coupons you wish to trade say 10 for 10. Value is not factored in. If you are paying a handling fee for your coupons, you could be paying by Paypal, revolution money exchange, stamps or cash. A guideline that many traders use is 10% of face value. That is a good starting point. That said, keep a few things in mind:- There are traders who trade coupons on here every day for .01, .02, .03, .04 and .05 cents each regardless of face value, they end up with repeat buyers.
- Some coupons are "HOT" and will trade at higher than 10%
- Many traders do give a discount for large trades so do not be afraid to ask or offer if a large trade is being made.
- If you are not going to use it, 5% in your account is better than a coupon in the trash
 - 10% is not a rule, it is not set in stone. Do not miss out on good trades because you are not being offered 10%.
- The 10% guideline does not always apply to high value coupons. There are often $10, $20 and $30 coupons out in the trading world. These do not always trade for $1, $2 or $3 each.
If you are not comfortable with what someone is offering you for what you have, decline the trade. If you do not want to pay what someone is asking for, decline the trade or make another offer. A fair trade is one in which each party feels that they are getting something they need for a fair amount in exchange.

| Re: ¨*:•.-:¦:- TRADING FAQ's ¨*:•.-:¦:- Please Start Here. Most trading questions answered in this thread. Q: What is a wine tag and what is its trade value? A: A wine tag is a coupon often found on the neck of a wine bottle. The term "wine tag" also refers to any coupon or offer provided by the manufacturer of an alcoholic beverage, even if they are found as tear pads or other displays. There are pics of different wine tags HERE Wine tags may require the purchase of alcohol (wine purchase necessary, or WPN), or do not require the purchase of alcohol (no wine purchase necessary, or NWPN). Availability and redemption terms frequently vary by state, as do the laws for alcohol sale and distribution. When you are trading with wine tags, be sure to specify if they require an alcohol purchase and if they have state restrictions. Wine tags may provide excellent savings on a variety of non-alcoholic items, such as meat, flowers, candy, paper products...almost anything! These have a going rate of 30%. Some traders trade them for higher or lower depending what the tag is for. |

| Re: ¨*:•.-:¦:- TRADING FAQ's ¨*:•.-:¦:- Please Start Here. Most trading questions answered in this thread. Q: What are Box Tops for Education & Campbell's Labels for Education? What is their trade value? A: Box Tops for Education or BTFE's & Campbells Labels for Education CLFE's are a way for schools to earn money to buy items they need. Often the schools have contests to get children to bring in lots of labels. BTFEs BTFE's have a real $ value of .10 each when redeemed by the school. Keep in mind that schools only send in BTFE's 2x per year so most traders want box tops that are not close to expiration. Their trade value varies based on who you are trading with. Some traders like to trade 1 BTFE for 1 coupon. Others give them a value of between .05 & .10 in "real money" So, if you are using BTFE's as payment going by the 10% face value going rate, 10 BTFE's could get you between $5 & $10 in coupons. To find products that have these labels on them go to BoxTops4Education.com - Earn Cash For Your School!. CLFEs: CLFE's are another way schools get items they need, rather than get money, the schools shop from a catalog. The value for these is not quite as easy to determine. If you are trading with someone, or including them on a train 1 label for 1 coupon usually works. However, CLFE's are not as actively sought out by members so some members will ask for more CLFE's than BTFE's when trading for coupons. Make sure if you are trading these, you send what the other member needs so the school can redeem. To turn it in, the school does not need the whole label, just the UPC and the labels for education icon with the point value below it. for more info, you can go to Campbell's Labels for Education - Save Labels - Get Free Stuff For Your School |

| Re: ¨*:•.-:¦:- TRADING FAQ's ¨*:•.-:¦:- Please Start Here. Most trading questions answered in this thread. Q: What are my freebie coupons worth? A: The trade value on freebie coupons vary widely. Some members still trade them for 10% of face value other members trade them for a higher % of face value. Many things factor in when trading for a free coupon. If the coupon is for a freebie that you can often get for free or almost free with a regular cents off manufacturer coupon it may not trade "high." Freebies that are "hot" often are traded for other hot coupons like wine tags (at 20 or 30 percent sometimes). Some members like to trade their free coupons for multiples of non freebie coupons that they need. Others will only trade one free coupon for another. It will just depend on the member with whom you are trading. |

| Re: ¨*:•.-:¦:- TRADING FAQ's ¨*:•.-:¦:- Please Start Here. Most trading questions answered in this thread. Q: What is a Mail in Rebate? What is it worth? A: Mail in Rebate or MIR is a form that offers money back for buying a certain product. You mail in with the required documentation, usually the MIR form, receipt(s) and UPC codes. These are a great way to supplement your grocery budget! The trade value of a mail in rebate will vary by trader. Some traders ask for a % of face value. Other traders ask for a certain amount of a handling fee to be paid in cash, Paypal, RME or stamps. The type of MIR helps determine the trade value as well. You can expect trade value to vary as widely as 1 coupon per MIR, 1 stamp per MIR, even high value ones to $1 or more per form. If you are not comfortable with the amount being asked, feel free to try another trader or make a different offer. Q: What is a Try Me Free(TMF)? What is it worth? A: A try me free form is a kind of mail in rebate. Instead of being for a certain money back amount, its for your full purchase price paid. Thus, trying it for free. TMFs are traded like MIRs. |

| Re: ¨*:•.-:¦:- TRADING FAQ's ¨*:•.-:¦:- Please Start Here. Most trading questions answered in this thread. Q: What are Coke Rewards/Coke Codes? What is their trade value? A: Almost all Coke products have a code under the cap. They are also found on the flap of 12 and 24 packs. Always be very clear if you are trading for CODES or POINTS. The codes all have different point values, caps are 3 points, flaps from 12pks are 10 points and there are others as well. Theres a big difference between trading for 10 coke codes or 10 coke points. When trading Coke Codes, keep in mind the value of the prizes you are redeeming the codes for. This is an item that can vary widely in what members ask for or are willing to give. Some members have a set price that they ask for, or a set # of coupons per codes. Others will not use the codes and are flexible in what you are willing to offer. A big tip is to watch the prize value. If the prize you are going for is valued at $1.00 or $1.50 like a free drink, take that into account when trading for codes. Other prizes like gift cards have a dollar value along with the amount of codes needed. Figure out how much you are willing to spend and trade accordingly. Tips on Coke Code redemption: tip #1 The codes can be hard to read sometimes so if you type it and it doesn't work, look again under better light do not just throw it away. tip #2 there are no letter O's. So anything that looks even remotely like an O are zero's. When you get enough points you can redeem the points for prizes. Make sure to log in regularly to add codes, they do expire after a while. | Re: ¨*:•.-:¦:- TRADING FAQ's ¨*:•.-:¦:- Please Start Here. Most trading questions answered in this thread. Q: How do I leave feedback for a trade? A: If you have a PM from them, you can simply open the PM and then click the number inside the ( ) next to the person's member name. This brings you to the page to leave feedback. You can also go to the Memberlist directory (there's a link at the bottom of every page on HCW). Search for the member by name there to find their profile. Once on their profile page. Next click Leave Feedback in the Itrader Feedback section of the members profile. Or if you completed the trade via the coupon database, once you both select "complete" in the trade dialog the "Feedback" button appear. Clicking that will bring you to the Itrader page. Once you've reached the iTrader feedback page, here's how to actually leave feedback: On the 1st dropdown box where it says, "You were the:" Choose one of the three options. - Buyer – If you sent Paypal, cash, or other forms of money.
- Seller – If you received sent Paypal, cash, or other forms of money.
- Trade – If this was a swap of coupons or other items.
On the 2nd dropdown box where it says "Overall experience:" Choose one of the three options - Positive +1 – If your trade went smoothly and nothing was amiss.
- Neutral -0 – If your trade was OK. Maybe something was amiss but the other person made it up.
- Negative –1 – If your trade never showed up and you could not get it resolved in a timely fashion.
On the 3rd text box where it says "A short comment: Visible to all" enter a comment about the trade. Such as: "great trade look forward to more! A+++++" On the large text box where it says "Additional comments: Visible to buyer, seller and staff only" you may elaborate on the details of the trade or add additional thanks to the trader. This is optional as well. Last but not least click the button that says "Submit Reply". A private message will be automatically sent to the person that you left feedback for so that they know that you have received your end of the trade. |

| Re: ¨*:•.-:¦:- TRADING FAQ's ¨*:•.-:¦:- Please Start Here. Most trading questions answered in this thread. Q: I accidentally left the wrong feedback comment what do I do? A: You can use the report iTrader feedback link on the person's feedback page.
In comments please describe what is wrong with the feedback left. A moderator will look at it for you and change it if necessary. Q: I am hesitant to leave neutral or negative feedback, can the other member leave me undeserved negative or neutral feedback? A: Hot Coupon World relies on the community to help us keep bad traders and scammers out off of the board. To do this, we ask that members leave appropriate feedback based on your trade. If you upheld your end of the trade and the other member did not, they cannot leave you "retaliatory feedback" just becuase you were honest.
If you are left a feedback such as this, please use the report feedback link and a moderator will look into it and remove the comment if it is found that the rating was not deserved. Q: Someone left me feedback I do not agree with, what do I do? A: You can report the feedback using the report icon on your feedback page. You will be contacted by one of the site admins or a trade forum leader to help resolve the feedback issue. |
