Forum: WARNING: Bad Trader Listing

We all know that trading coupons can be a great way to maximize our savings. However, from time to time, a trade between members can go a bit sour. The same applies to our Trains. They are a lot of fun, but are treated as trades and as such, not mailing your end of a train is subject to bad trader proceedings.

To help protect our members HCW instituted a bad traders listing. This list will only be viewable to registered members and include the bad traders user id and address (city, state, and zip only). By participating in a trade with another HCW member you agree to this information being made public on the board. After 3 bad trades the offending user will automatically be banned.

If a trader is reported to a member of our staff as a possible known bad trader on another site or sites, our staff will carefully research each report and take appropriate action on a case by case basis. If the person in question is indeed a known bad trader they will be banned from the board and listed here as a bad trader to warn others.

A trade has gone bad when a participant has not received their end of the trade by 2 weeks of the agreed upon send date.

We ask, that before reporting a bad trade, you contact the other member to try to resolve the trade. Often its a simple misunderstanding that is easily resolved.

If the other member does not reply, or no resolution is reached fill out our bad trader report found HERE. Please fill the form out completely.

Once your report has been filed it, it will go to our bad trader mod Bugface711. She will contact the other trader and may contact you for copies of PM's if necessary.

If after 2 weeks, the trade is not resolved, the other member will be put on the bad trader list. At that time, you can also leave appropriate feedback.

Please note, that if you leave negative feedback before filing the bad trader report, or during the 2 week time period, the bad trader report is closed.

It is a good idea to keep all PMs, emails, and other information you receive until after the trade is completed. That information is our main tool to help members when a bad trade occurs.

Please remember that at the end of the day we're all here to try and help each other make the most of what they have.

Default Re: Rules: Forums for Trading: Share the Wealth - MUST READ

Forum: Auctions: Coupons or Actuals

Listing:

All auctions must be hosted on Hot Coupon World.

***All auctions are moderated and must first be approved by a member of our mod staff. While we strive to get them approved as fast as we can there are times when the auction mod is not online to approve them. It can take up to 24 hours for them to go live on the site. Please keep this in mind when hosting an auction.

You may post multiple auctions at one time here on HCW! However, if you have 5 or more auctions going at one time, we ask that you only bump a max 5 at a time to give other auctions time to be seen at the top of the forum. thanks!

All off-site auctions are to be posted in the Hot Entrepreneurs forum for a nominal yearly fee.

You may not post a link to any other website in your auction with out express permission from the administrators of Hot Coupon World.

You may post site appropriate photo's in your auctions.

All auctions must have a clearly posted ending date, time and time zone in the title of your thread. If you live in a time zone that for any reason does not match up with the rest of your zone you must note it in the auction. (ex arizona not adjusting for dlst so for part of the year it coincides with pst).

You may not extend the ending date of your auction for any reason.

You may cancel auctions only if there have been no bids on your items. Once someone has made a qualifying bid the auction must remain up and you are obligated to fulfill the auction terms. To cancel, reply to your auction thread that you wish to cancel and also pm the auction forum mods so that your thread may be removed.

You may not auction off more than 100 of any one coupon.

You may post a starting price.

You may post a bid increment price.

You may add items to your auction to increase bidding.

If the bidder is responsible for shipping, list the shipping amount. If you are covering shipping, say so, its a great selling feature.
If shipping is not addressed in the auction terms, then the seller is responsible for shipping the item to the bidder.

Types of shipping: you can use any shipping method that you wish appropriate for the items you are selling, however you cannot inflate shipping charges here on HCW. If it is $4.60 to ship an envie out priority mail, then that is the amt you charge.

Also, when auctioning off a package if you are not using Parcel Post or Priority mail, please note it. Media Mail does take significantly longer to arrive and if you are shipping via this method, bidders need to be aware before bidding. UPS, Fed Ex, DHL need a home address so members that use PO boxes need to know before bidding.

Items that are permitted to be auctioned off:

  • Actuals
  • Checks
  • Concealed cash (CC)
  • Coupons
  • Expired coupons
  • Free samples
  • Gift cards
  • Money orders
  • Pay-pal Handling Fee (PPHF)
  • RME (revolution money exchange)
  • Postage stamps
  • Printable coupons Limit of 2 of the same printable coupon per member. **
  • Promotional forms
  • Rain checks
  • Rebate forms
  • Try-Me-Free forms
  • UPCs
** HCW only allows 2 of any same printable coupon to be auction off by a member. This is not per auction, this is per member.

Items that are not permitted to be auctioned:
  • Cash Register Tapes (CRTs)
  • Complete deals (UPC, CRT, and Form...all items needed for a rebate)
  • Unspecified Potlucks (All auctions must clearly state the exact coupons or items for bid, you may not hold auctions for potlucks based on have lists etc. You must write out what coupons are up for auction, if you wish to do undisclosed potluck trades you may do so in the trading forums but not in the auction forum. *** However, a potluck may be added in and listed as an extra in your auction.
  • Please be advised that the auctioning of coupons that you do not have in hand is not permitted in the auction forums. You may not presell coupons that you are waiting to come out in your inserts or that you have traded for. All coupons must be in your possession.
  • If you are auctioning off coupons that are from the upcoming Sunday inserts, please note that you are not able to auction them until Thursday when they become available to the public via early edition papers.
  • Actual items containing pseudo-ephedrine and/or ephedrine
  • Firearms or Fireworks
  • Drugs/Drug Paraphernalia
  • Alcohol
You must accurately post what the coupon is for. If something is free WYB something else. Do not list it as a "free" coupon. If something is free after mail in rebate, list it as free after MIR not free. If you are not sure how to list, pm one of the forum mods.

We ask that you do not post any portion of the UPC Number of the coupon in your trading posts. A moderator WILL edit this out, and a warning and /or infraction will be issued. You MAY however post if a coupon is DND 5, DND 9, or store only coupon coded (ie starts with a 0)

Bidding:

All bidding must be done in the auction thread. Bids via pm & email are not allowed.

You must be a member of the trader user group to bid on an auction. join HERE.

ALL BIDS ARE FINAL! - Please do not bid on an auction unless you are prepared to follow through with your bid. Your bid is a contract with the person holding the auction. You may not edit/change/delete your bid once it is made. Failure to comply is subject to negative feedback and/or bad trader proceedings.

Buy It Now Auctions:

HCW has a Trades forum where you can trade your item(s) for a set trade amount, auctions where the only option is Buy It Now are not allowed.

You may list a regular auction that also give your bidders the option to Buy It Now. Unlike ebay, we allow buyers to "buy it now" at any point during the auction. This is coupons after all and tends to be fast paced.

All sellers that wish to offer a BIN option MUST post this in their original post. This option may not be added later.

The original post must specify with the buy it now exactly what you are looking for in the auction including shipping in the terms of Pay-Pal, RME stamps, coupons. etc.

You must list an ending date and time including time zone for auctions with the BIN option.

Members wishing to purchase a buy it now item must do so in the auction thread. Members using buy it now should also pm the auctioneer. This speeds up the shipping process.

The auctioneer then must declare the auction over with BIN, in the thread.

Bumping:

You may bump your auction once every 24 hours. Answering a question is not considered bumping.

Adding to your auction is a great way to keep the bidding going, but if it is found that you are only adding as a way to keep bumping your post, your additions will be merged with your OP and it will be treated as a bump.

Rules on declaring a winner:

winners must be declared in the auction thread so other bidders can see who won & mods can check the winner.

Auctions end at the exact time stated. The HCW time stamp shows hour, minute and second to make this easy.
If your auction ends at 6pm EST, a bid at 6:00:00 is a valid final bid. If someone bids at 6:00:01, that bid is 1 second past the end time and therefore is not valid.

You must look at all posts before determining the winner. The last post is quite often, not the winner. Make sure the bid has come in before the auction ended. Also make sure that a previous bidder did not post a higher bid of the same payment type.

If you are accepting several bid types, like coupons, gift cards, concealed cash (cc) paypal handling fee, RME, stamps then you may choose which bid best suits your needs. For our bidders: this means that a seller has the option of choosing a lower value bid amount if it is a form that they prefer. Please be clear in what bid type you are making when bidding.

If you are only accepting one payment type such as pay pal only, RME only cash only, stamps only, then the highest bid before the auctions stated end time is the winner.

The seller is obligated to either send a private message or email to the winner of the auction within 24 hours of the end of an auction. The winner of the auction is obligated to PM or email the seller back within 24 hours of the time the PM or email was sent to arrange payment or other terms of auction.
If the winner of the auction does not contact the seller within this time frame the seller may re-list the items in the auction with the permission ONLY of the mod for the Auction forum.
The seller must attempt to contact the winner of their auction at least two times via PM and/or email and forward the Pm's/email to the mod for review. Failure to follow through on auctions is considered bad trading practices and will be traded as such for both buyers and sellers.

If you do not get any bids on your auction you may re-list your items after your auction is over.

Other info:

Here at HCW we strive to offer neat, clean forums. Once your auction has ended, an auction moderator will move your ended auction thread into the "Auctions Sold" forum.

PLEASE check feedback of all auctioneers before bidding. HCW world is not responsible for transactions.

Failure to follow the rules in the auction forum can result in warnings/infractions & loss of trading priviledges.

Not following through on an auction as a seller or as a bidder is subject to bad trader proceedings.

PLEASE keep in mind these are the rules but they are not all inclusive. If a situation arises not included in these rules, there are mods in place to handle or mediate the situation.

Finally, we reserve the right to cancel or delete any auction that does not comply with the rules or we feel does not meet the standards set forth for the site overall.

Default Re: Rules: Forums for Trading: Share the Wealth - MUST READ

Forum: Trades: Current Coupons

This forum is for the trading of current or non-expired coupons, rebate forms, actuals, gift cards or other items.

** Please note all trading must be done in the appropriate trade forums. The store/deals forums are not for offering coupons for trade.

If you get your Sunday coupons early, you can list them for trade the Thursday before they are released in the Sunday paper no sooner.

If you have over 100 of each coupon listed regularly, you are considered to be running a clipping service. These type of posts belong in our Hot Entrepreneur forum. Find out more about how to become a HCW Hot Entrepreneur HERE . If you occasionally have over 100 of any given coupon, please list it as 100+.

You may post multiple unique new threads per day in the Trades: current coupons and offers forum. However, you can not post more than 5 new posts at a time, bump more than 5 old posts at a time or a combination of the 2. (as long as it is not more than any 5 at one time) This gives everyone a chance to be seen at the top of the trading forum.

Having unlimited new posts in our trades forum is a great way for you to be able to post your ever changing offers and needs. It is also a great way to find the hot coupons you need. It is not intended as a way to keep your trades and iso's at the top of the forum all day every day. It is not a way to list out each item you have or need in seperate threads.
Posts found to be excessive will be deleted or combined.

What is a unique post, what is considered excessive?

A unique post is a differnt type of trade post being made at one time. If you are ISO 6 different coupons you can not make 6 individual threads listing each one at one time. You would make one ISO post and put each item in the title and list them out in the body of your thread. If you have several different rebate forms to offer for trade at one time, please put as many as you can fit into one post. Do not list each rebate seperately. If you have several coupons you want to post for trade, put them together. If you have a variety of things to post: Ex. an ISO, a form for trade, a list of non inserts, and maybe an actual you are trying to trade, posting each of them at one time is within the rules.

Over the course of the 7-10 days that posts are kept in the trading forum, its is possible and even probable that you will end up with several similar posts. That is within the rules, however, mods may merge them. This helps give everyone a chance to be seen on page 1 of trades and it helps you have less posts overall for bumping purposes.

The following items are allowed to be traded:
  • Actuals
  • Checks
  • Concealed cash (CC)
  • Coupons
  • Expired coupons
  • Free samples
  • Gift cards
  • Money Orders
  • Paypal handling fee (PPHF)
  • RME handling fee (revolution money exchange)
  • Postage stamps
  • Printable coupons
  • Promotional forms
  • Rain checks
  • Rebate Forms
  • Try-Me-Free forms
  • UPCs
The following items are not allowed to be traded:

  • Cash Register Tapes (CRTs) aka receipts **
  • Complete deals (UPC, CRT, and Form...all items needed for a rebate)
  • Actual items containing pseudo-ephedrine and/or ephedrine
  • Firearms or Fireworks
  • Drugs/Drug Paraphernalia
  • Alcohol
  • CVS Printable coupons
** if you have a coupon from the bottom of the receipt, you are allowed to trade that part only. If it needs a "call in" to be activated. you must do the call in before offering the coupon for trade.

Any coupon/items you post for trade must actually be "in hand". You cannot trade coupons or actuals that you do not actually have. This includes items that need to be activated. These items need to be activated and ready for use before offering for trade.

You must accurately post what the coupon is for. If something is free WYB, it needs to be listed as such.

It is illegal to sell coupons. You may however ask for a handling fee for your time to collect, cut, sort, and mail coupons. Listings of multiple haves over 100 of any one item is not allowed. If you have more than 100 of any one item for trade we consider you to be running a buisiness and in that case you may list your business and items for sale in the Hot Entrepreneurs Forum for a nominal fee.

We ask that your limit the bumping (replying to your thread to make it "bump" to the top of the page) to once every 24 hours. New posts should not be bumped for a full 24 hours after you make it, and old posts should have at least 24 hours between bumps.

Asking for a post to be deleted and reposting in under 24 hours is also treated as bumping.

You may have friends bump your posts as long as it doesn't get out of hand. Editting/updating your OP is not considered bumping. Adding a reply stating that you have updated your OP is bumping. Answering a question is not bumping.
Members that are found guilty of not following the bumping rules will receive a warning or infraction as determined by the mod in charge. ** see below for more details on bumping.

Violations of these rules will result in a warning or infraction.

Here at HCW we strive to offer neat, clean forums. If you no longer have the items in your ad or are no longer in search of the items in your posted ad in the Trades: Current Coupons And Offers Forum, please use change the title of your post to DELETEso that we may remove them in a timely manner.

All posts in the Trades: Current Coupons And Offers Forum will be purged from the system by a Super moderator, the head moderator of the trading forums or the forum moderator on the 10th day the thread has been inactive.
All posts offering or searching for an item that has expired will be removed from the forum regardless of time in the forum.
Any post that has not been bumped at all is subject to removal after 7 days.

PLEASE check feedback for all traders. HCW is not responsible for bad transactions.

Please remember to include your member name in or on your envelope when sending a trade.

If you are a posting trader in this forum, make it a point to regularly search for your posts to see if you have posts that can be removed. you can do this by clicking search, advanced search and entering your member name.

If you no longer need or have an item listed, change the title of that post to delete. although found, traded, gone etc all seem to get the point across, the mods search a few times a day for "delete" posts. that means other words or delete with *** or !!! or ~~~~ do not show up.

Please remember that the goal is for everyone to make lots of great trades. Having these rules in place help us achieve that goal every day.

Thanks for helping us continue to make the Trades Current Coupons and Offers forum a great place to trade!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Bumping (thanks a sweetheart)
  • Bumping your existing post is replying to it with the message *bump* (or something similar). This will move your post back to the top of the heap and display it on the front page again.
  • Anything that you do to move your post to the top of the page is considered bumping.
  • Answering questions about your post is not considered bumping.
  • Editing the OP is completely OK --it does not move your post. Making a separate post stating that you have edited your OP IS bumping.
Forum: Haves Lists: Have Coupons or Actuals for Trade
This forum is for parking of members' have lists, which members leave in one spot and update regularly.
Each member is allowed to have only one thread in this forum.
Once you have created your list of coupons that you have to trade create a new thread with your username in the title. Example: "MyUserName's Have List". Then please send a PM to the mod for this forum with the URL to your thread and she will add your name and have list to the alphabetical directory. If for some reason you need to delete your have list from the forum please let the mod know so that she can delete your list from the alphabetical listing.
Items that are permitted to be included in your have list:
  • Actuals
  • Checks
  • Concealed cash (CC)
  • Coupons
  • Expired coupons
  • Free samples
  • Gift cards
  • Money Orders
  • Paypal handling fee (PPHF)
  • Postage stamps
  • Printable coupons
  • Promotional forms
  • Rain checks
  • Rebate Forms
  • Try-Me-Free forms
  • UPCs
Items that are not permitted to be included in your have list:
  • Cash Register Tapes (CRTs)
  • Complete deals (UPC, CRT, and Form...all items needed for a rebate)
We ask that you do not post any portion of the UPC Number of the coupon in your trading posts. A moderator WILL edit this out, and a warning and /or infraction will be issued. You MAY however post if a coupon is DND 5, DND 9, or store only coupon coded (ie starts with a 0)
We ask that your limit the bumping (replying to your thread to make it "bump" to the top of the page) to once per day. This gives everyone a chance to be seen. Bumping your thread on the same day it was created is not permitted. You may have friends bump your posts as long as it doesn't get out of hand. Editting/updating your OP is not considered bumping. Adding a reply stating that you have updated your OP is bumping. Members that are found guilty of not following the bumping rules will receive a warning or infraction as determined by the mod in charge.
Violations of these rules are subject to a warning or infraction.
Here at HCW we strive to offer neat, clean forums. If you know longer wish to have a list in the Haves Lists: Have Coupons or Actuals for Trade Forum, please use the alert icon so that we may remove it in a timely manner. All posts in the Haves Lists: Have Coupons or Actuals for Trade Forum will be purged from the system by a Super moderator, the head moderator of the trading forums or the forum moderator in the event that the member has not logged into HCW at any point in two months time.
PLEASE check feedback for all traders. HCW is not responsible for bad transactions.
