| Re: Rite aid: 02/07 - 02/13 (Remember this is the LAST week for the PG rebate 551) | #3. The $50 in Purchases are *Before tax and AFTER coupon discounts. | No, they're before tax AND coupon discounts, just like last year. So anyone who's trying to max out the PG giftcard offer this week could send in their receipts, even if they only spent a few dollars tax on CG or something.
The values are not necessarily the same either, although some of them will be useless...I know I've never gotten $1/1 ANY bounty or charmin, or $5/1 olay regenerist in my inserts. Plus the PG insert coupons almost always expire in 6 weeks or less, so extended expiration dates can come in really handy too.
I wouldn't advocate anyone rushing out and spending $50 on P&G just to get these coupons...but they have so many sales that we take advantage of already. I mean, how many free fusion razors have you guys gotten? I wouldn't be surprised if at least half the people on this board qualify for this rebate by April without even trying. So why not send off for some free coupons?

I misread it.
Ha! May as well do it then... maybe they'll surprise me. |

| Re: Rite aid: 02/07 - 02/13 (Remember this is the LAST week for the PG rebate 551) Okay, maybe I am completely misreading this, but the statement is "$50 in purchases before tax and AFTER coupon discounts." This means, to me, that the $50 is BEFORE tax (so you cannot spend, say, $45 and also count the $5.xx tax to reach the $50 mark). The second condition is AFTER coupon discounts. The statement is NOT "$50 in purchases before tax and coupon discounts." To me, this means that I have to subtract the $3 coupon I used on the Loreal Regenerist face wash so that instead of counting the shelf price of $7.99, I can only count $4.99 b/c I used a coupon worth $3. Is this correct?
And assuming that the allowed amount is after coupons, how in Earth are they going to know what coupon goes with what product when there are 12 items on a receipt and all coupons are listed at the bottom? I liked the coupons from last year's offer b.c of the longer expiration dates, but this offer is quite confusing to me. Thanks for helping me to understand it.

If you are using the Olay Regenerist example above, you'd get credit for the $7.99 price you quoted. Tax never counts towards any rebate (not just SCRs), just so you'll know in the future.

| Re: Rite aid: 02/07 - 02/13 (Remember this is the LAST week for the PG rebate 551) I fully get the tax thing. My question is regarding the wording ---"before tax and AFTER coupon discounts." I also understand that last year it did not matter about coupons b/c I only spent a few dollars OOP (vast majority of it was the tax). But last year they did not have the wording with the "after coupon discounts". Don't mean to beat a dead horse, I am just trying to decide if I want to do this or not. For the #551 rebate I have spent only a tiny amount to get the $35 Visa card b/c my qs have "paid" for the items. It would be awesome to send in those receipts and get the coupon booklet, but I don't want to do that if they are going to deny my request.

| Re: Rite aid: 02/07 - 02/13 (Remember this is the LAST week for the PG rebate 551) I've never had P&G turn me down for a rebate (or any other company, for that matter) because I used coupons. I'm going to send it in. I don't think there is going to be a problem. I guess I look at it like I'm only out a stamp if they decide not to honor the request.

| Where are you getting "after coupon discounts"? I printed the form from this site (the P&G website) and it says spend $50 "Before tax or coupon discounts". Not after.
I'm not sure why anyone would do a rebate to get a coupon book if you couldn't use coupons on the products. Who would want the rebate except for a couponer? Some companies are really illogical that way, but usually P&G is better about it. |
