What is this SCR thing you are all talking about?
The SCR is the RA Single Check Rebate program. There are literally dozens of rebates published every month in a booklet that you can find in the store or online.
If you are newbie please click here for details. Can I have more than one SCR account? You can only submit ONE account per HOUSEHOLD.
Phone Number 1-800-RITEAID (1-800-748-3243)
Single Check Rebate Phone Number
1-888-213-9920 Does RA take coupons? Yes. Does RA take competitor's coupons?
YMMV: some stores will, some won't. The best thing to do is ask!
Does RA accept expired coupons? No, not even their own RA-issued coupons. Do you need a loyalty card to get the sale prices at RA? Yes, a Wellness+ card is needed to receive the sale price listed in the weekly flyer. Does RA accept coupons for over the selling price of the item?
NO, the RA coupon policy states that any coupon over the purchase price of an item will be adjusted down, overage is NEVER permitted at Rite Aid.
Can I use a RA in-ad coupon in combination with a manufacturer's coupon?
Yes. Rite Aid is tricky because most of their store/ad coupons say manufacturer coupons when in fact they are not. If the coupons start with RC4 then it is indeed a RITE AID coupon. Mod Edit: If the In-Ad coupon is a Rite Aid Manufacturer Coupon, it will start with "49". The other In-Ad coupons are called "Valuable Coupons" and start with "48". You may use either of these with a manufacturer's coupon.
Does RA accept Internet printable coupons? Yes, but the value of the coupon can not exceed $5.00 How do I sign up for RA printable coupons?
STEP ONE:
https://www5.riteaid.com/myriteaid/login
STEP TWO: click on the "REGISTER NOW BUTTON"
STEP THREE: enter requested info
STEP FOUR:
CHECK YOUR EMAIL that you used to sign up--there will be a link that says finish or complete registration--click that!
STEP FIVE: After clicking the link it will take you to log in--once you log in, it will take you to a page to where you can push the "print" button--make sure your pinter is on.
STEP SIX: You do have the option under properties when you go to print--to change the quantity of copies you want. REMEMBER--YOU WILL ONLY HAVE ACCESS TO THESE ONCE PER EMAIL ADDRESS. If you already used an email address to access these "sign up" coupons........you will NOT be able to use the same email address again.
These are RA coupons
Do I have to buy 2 (or more) of something to get the advertised sale price? If it is just a sale price then no, you should be able to just purchase 1 or X amount. However if the SCR tells you that you need to purchase X amount then you need to purchase X amount to qualify for the SCR. Does RA gives rainchecks for out-of-stock sale items?
Yes, they give rain checks. Make sure that they use the raincheck key on the register! Be sure to read raincheck 101 below.
What happens if the item that is out of stock is FAR or has an SCR? My store never gets the items back in stock before the end of the rebate period!
You can still receive your rebate after the SCR period. Be sure to read raincheck 101 below.
Is there a limit to how many receipts you can enter each month?
No. If you shop there 15 times that month, enter all 15 receipts.
FYI: If you create an account and enter your receipts ONLINE, RA will send an email to let you know when they have posted, as well as a reminder to request your check at the end of the month! I entered my receipts, the rebate posted, and I got my check! Now, I entered more receipts, and it says that I am ineligible for the rebate. What's up with that?
They call it a Single Check Rebate for a reason! RA will only send
one rebate check per rebate period.
"You can request your check at anytime during the program period but you will only be permitted to request ONE CHECK per household or address during the program period for all eligible rebates. Please make sure you have finished shopping because rebates are available throughout the entire month."
What's so great about the RA rebates?
One check is nice. Yes, you do have to wait until the end of the month, but patience is a virtue!
Also, since they can be done online, you still have your original receipt available for any manufacturer's rebates that might be out there. Double the money! Go here to enter your receipts online:
https://riteaid.rebateplus.com/default.asp How long does it take to get my check once I request it? Processing takes a while. Your check will usually arrive about 3 weeks after you request it. Also, be aware that the check comes as a postcard and can be easily missed or thrown away with the junk mail. What do I do if my receipt isn't credited? Click here for details. My ad shows that there will be double rebates. Will I get double rebates for everything that month? The double rebate is posted in the ad as double ONLY for the week and items for which they will apply, so if you buy that item during the double period, it will be a double rebate. If you buy it before or after, you are out of luck. These are SPECIFICALLY advertised as double SCRs. Both RITEAID and WALGREENS have some of the free rebates deals...such as the Got2B free after rebate in August. If you participated in RiteAid's, does that mean your ineligible for the Walgreens also?? No. Two different stores = two different rebates! Do all of the qualifiers for a rebate (example: SCR says buy X, Y, Z to get gift card) need to be on the same receipt? No. You can enter them throughout the rebate period. This allows you to buy things the week that they are on sale to maximize your savings! Can I use a BOGO coupon on a BOGO sale?
RA policy states you can use a BOGO coupon on a BOGO sale however managers/cashiers may not be aware of this so YMMV
Can I use 2 coupons on a BOGO sale?
Yes. But be aware that the RA coupon policy does NOT allow for overage. If you use a BOGO coupon on a BOGO sale, both items are already free, so no other coupon may be used. You may however use 2 coupons for example that are both 1.00/1 on a BOGO sale, taking 2.00 off.
If there is a BOGO 50% sale, and I have a BOGO coupon, does the coupon cover the free item or the 50% item?
After reviewing Rite Aid's official coupon policy, there does not appear to be an official way that Rite Aid accepts BOGO 50% off sales & BOGO free coupons. With that being said, our take is that, it is YMMV as to if your store gives the full price product for free or the 50% off item. Please check in advance with your store manager.
What if I lose my receipt with SCR items on it?
The store manager can generate a receipt at the store of purchase. You need to know around what time you checked out, what what you bought, & what register.
Do BOGO items count toward the SCR?
If the SCR says purchase X QUANTITY then YES the BOGO product will count toward the SCR.
If the SCR says purchase X DOLLARS worth then NO the BOGO will NOT contribute toward the SCR.
Will Rite Aid Price Match Prescriptions?
YES--even the 4.00 prescriptions at Wal-mart
Can a product purchased apply to multiple rebates?
It can, assuming the purchase is made during the eligible purchase dates for the multiple rebate offers and of course the product must also be an eligible product for the multiple rebates. This is sometimes referred to 'double/triple dipping'.
Example: let's assume there is a Johnson & Johnson month long Rebate of $10 when you buy $25 worth of J&J products including Listerine Mouthwash 1 litre or larger. Let's also assume during that month there is also a rebate of $5 when you purchase three Listerine products. If you bought 5 1-litre bottles of Listerine mouthwash for $5 a piece during the rebate period, you'd qualify for both rebates.
There is a discrepancy between the sales circular and the SCR booklet. Which one is correct?
The online SCR's are always the most accurate and up-to-date. Next would be the SCR booklet and last would be the sales ad.
Do I need to give the coupons in a particular order?
If you have a $/$$ coupon you would want to give that coupon first. Other than that, it is not like walgreens. The coupons do NOT need to be any particular order.
Do Rite Aid coupons works like Walgreen's coupons where ONE coupon will give the discount for all qualifying products?
No. Rite Aid coupons do NOT work like Walgreen's coupons. If you buy 3 products then you will need 3 Rite Aid coupons.
If I purchase a SCR item online at RA can it be submitted for the SCR?
YES. When you go to enter a receipt it will now ask you if you purchased online or in the store. Click the appropriate option.
Can a Video Value coupon + Wellness coupon + an ad coupon be used on the same product?
As of 3/8/11 They may not if they both start with "49". If an in ad coupon starts with "48" it may be combined with a VV + Wellness coupon.
WRONG: Video Value coupon + Wellness coupon + Ad Coupon on same item
WRONG: Video Value coupon + Wellness coupon on same item
RIGHT: Video Value coupon (49)+ Valuable In-Ad Coupon (48)
RIGHT: Wellness+ coupon + Ad Coupon
Coupon Policy as of 08/10

For example, $5 off a $25 purchase price threshold coupon. • These coupons are accepted under the Following conditions: • The coupon is valid and in date: only one total purchase coupon per transaction. • Total purchase equals or exceeds $25 before tax (before any coupons are applied). • Coupons for individual items can also be used including another “48″ coupon that is tied to an item in the transaction. • Provided the total of items purchased is equal to or greater than the purchase requirement, other coupons can be used in conjunction with the total purchase coupon. Multiple Coupons • More than one coupon can be used on the purchase of a single item under the following conditions: • All coupons match the item being purchased. • The total of the coupons is equal to or less than the selling price of the item before sales tax. • No more than one “48″ Rite Aid valuable coupon, one “49″ Rite Aid Manufacturer coupon, and one “5″manufacturer coupon can be used on a single item. • Rite Aid may accept multiple identical coupons for multiple qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers within the store manager’s sole discretion.
Look for the attached PDF to print and carry with you!
3/8/11 MOD NOTE: I have confirmed with Rite-Aid Customer Service that you may not use two Rite-Aid "49" which are Rite-Aid Manufacturer coupons on the same item. If it works for you great, but please do not post about it. The "48" coupons are "Valuable" coupons which will appear in the ad from time to time and in other places, i.e., in store for other times. You are allowed to use 1-"48" or Rite Aid Manufacturer Coupon, 1- "49" or Rite Aid Valuable Coupon and one "5" or Manufacturer coupon per item per their policy. You will see there are some "Valuable" coupons in next week's ad. I am deleting any posts that refer to using two "49" coupons. In the future, posting about this may result in a warning/infraction but I know the in-ad coupons recently changed so we all just need to get used to that. RAIN CHECK 101 by
coupondink
Hey everyone!
I have been doing rainchecks for riteaid rebates for years now. Thought I would let everyone know what I have been doing, to help the newbies, and those who are unaware that you can submit rebates after the rebate period if you have a raincheck.
We all love Riteaid rebates. We love freebies. We love trying new items every month. However, everyone here knows that Riteaid is not very good about stocking their FARs (free after rebate). But fret not! Luckily Riteaid allows receipts using rainchecks to be submitted after the rebate period. Sweet!
If your store is out of stock of a FAR...
1. go to the cashier and ask for a raincheck.
2. clip out the picture and the price in the circular and staple it to the raincheck. This serves two purposes. It will help you find the item later, and it is clear as day if a cashier questions the wording on the raincheck.
3. keep your eyes open for new coupons while you wait for the item to be in stock. This inconvenience to you often times turns into a moneymaking opportunity.
4. check the stores every week when you are you going for your weekly deals.
5. when the item is in stock, buy it. Make double sure that the receipt says "raincheck". Make triple sure you buy the right item. Right size, color, flavor, brand, everything. Carry the rebate book with you as you select.
6. mail the receipt and your information to:
Riteaid Single Check Rebates
PO Box 8340
Wilmington, DE 19803
or fax to: 1-800-457-2243
include your name, address, phone number, rebate offer month, rebate offer number, item name, rebate dollar amount owed to you. I also include my email address.
7. follow up with persistent nagging emails to
rebates@riteaid.com
and calls to 1-888-468-4356 x2225
Now, here are the perils you need to be aware of, so that you are able to nimbly guide through them:
1. every cashier will give you this line "oh it is coming in on the truck tomorrow. Come back tomorrow". Um no. It is not on the truck. I will place a $100 bet it is not. I know for a fact that the managers see it is FAR and order a lot, and they send them a few (3 or 4 sometimes!). Don't fall for this line. Use my stock answer "I am busy. I can not come back tomorrow. I am here today and you do not have the item. Please give me the raincheck. Thank you." This works every time. If by some chance you get a moron (I am shocked when I read the posts some people write about their horrid experiences!)...They legally can not say anything to this. If they do, don't get mad, don't fight...calmly call corporate (saved handily on your cell phone) right there right in front of them and hand the phone to the cashier after you speak to the customer service representative. I've done this several times. They will turn a million shades of red in front of all the other customers. This trick only works during normal business hours, when they answer the hotline.
2. 98% of the cashiers are not aware that you can submit receipts if you have a raincheck. They will try to dissuade you because they are too lazy to write a raincheck. Too bad. You know better. Insist. I once insisted and they had to write 9 rainchecks. I couldn't stop laughing. If they had only stocked the item! Sucks for them!
3. Make double sure the receipt says "raincheck". Sometimes the cashiers and managers are improperly trained and don't know how to do a raincheck properly, and they just adjust the price down. No. It must say "raincheck" or the rebate program will not accept it. Insist.
4. make sure you buy the right item. Make triple sure. This is my biggest advise. I've lost money by grabbing the wrong item, and by the time they get back to you to tell you that, it is past 30 days to return it.
5. this process is time consuming. If you don't have patience or time, just don't do it. Just grab the FARs that are in stock and be happy with that.
6. you have to followup. I have lost money in the past because I got busy or frustrated and just didn't have time to follow up. Once again, if you don't have the time or patience, don't do it. They want to make it difficult on you so that you just drop it. That is the cardinal rule with all rebates. Got time and patience? Follow up and see it through.
For a while, a poster shared a number that a nice lady at the SCR answered, and she did the rainchecks right there on the phone. Wow! I was so happy. That was short lived. Now they are back to telling us to fax them in. If that is the game they want to play, we can play it too.
For a while, I found out that they were turning off their fax machines. Nice. I would fax it in, call, they would tell me to wait the 2-3 weeks for processing (couldn't even tell me if they got the fax!), I would call, they would tell me they never got it, I would fax again, call, fax again, call....until I used a fancy fax machine at one of my jobs in Manhattan that detected that the fax number I was calling was actually turned off. Caught ya you little sneaky snakes!!!!!
But the hardest part is that you have to be super persistent. I have done hundreds of raincheck rebate submissions.....so I am here to tell you it can be done.
I've attached a template that you can use. I filled in the name, address, etc...and saved it on my laptop. I just fill in the other stuff (offer #, etc) each time. Easy!
Don't have a fax machine always available but you have a scanner??
Here is what I do:
Scan your receipts. Use faxzero.com. Easy. Free. Just go to faxzero.com and put your name and email and the ra's fax # and upload your template document and the scanned receipts. Click the link in the email they send you. I just did it right now and it took all of 30 seconds to fax. Easy!
One final note:
Some stores will give you the item free right there in the store once it comes into stock. I only know of one store near me (kinda far) that does that, but many posters here have shared their success with this. Call your store right now and ask the manager if they do that. It would be worth the call. Even easier! But make sure you ask him to tell his cashiers too, so that they don't think you are crazy when you ask for an item for free.
Good luck. Go get your FARs!!
