Default Re: Rite aid: 7/19 to 7/25

My store wouldn't let me use the $5/25 unless my purchase was $25 or over subtracting all the coupons first. So turns out - It was $24.97... SHEESH. for $0.03 lousy cents. But it was really my fault cause I needed the huggies diapers since I ran out the size DD needs so I didn't really preplan. I ended up buying a box of Puffs. Even crazier on my part was that I have been keeping this Citre Shine cpn in my wallet for at least 4 weeks since it came out and today I needed it and could not find it... otherwise, I would have been way over the $25 mark after mfg cpns. SOOO annoyed at myself cause they totally treated me like I was trying to scam them, and even forced me to go to another cashier. I think other people already tried this with them and this young lady really liked the control it was giving her. I don't even shop at Rite Aid all that much. Don't know why those 2 cashiers had such a grudge over me. LOL They even made comments off the side about how customers can get mad all they want... I didn't get mad, I just said I'd rather get something else instead of a candy bar. I know that $5/25 can be very YMMV. But it is a little annoying that stores are soo hostile towards customers nowadays. And after I got the Puff, she didn't even scan my 5/25... good thing I caught it, and then she said, "opps" but at least she said sorry.

I hate to hear stuff like this because my 2 neighborhood stores are coupon friendly. My local manager even told me that they scan the $5 off $25 first after ringing all the merch up because coupons are a form of payment, like cash. She gets it, you know?? Some of the other stores in the city are not coupon friendly, but at my two neighborhood ones, any legit coupon is a-ok. Sorry you had that happen.

Maybe you are in a similiar area as I am because our ads are always different - usually missing most of the free or really good deals. I think the only .99 after rebate listed in my ad was the Edge/Skintimate deal. I love seeing the ad scans early but hate being disappointed when I miss out on the deals! I hope this won't be the same way for all the FAR items the first week of August --- here's hoping anyway!

:sad:What a bummer. I used 2 like IP q's today for sunscreen without any problem. I would not have been happy if they told me I could only use 1.

Mine rung up the same way. They were marked $2.99 on the shelf, but rang up $1.24. My receipt just says "on sale", not "clearance", so I'm hoping I'll still ge the rebate. If not, I'll just return them ~ you can return clearance items.

My ad states that trial size, pre-priced, & clearance stickered items are excluded. Since my receipt says sale price, not clearance, I'm thinking that they should work for the rebate.

All of the L'oreal nail polish was on clearance at my store. Since we're all finding the same thing, I can't believe they'd offer a rebate on something that no one could be eligible for (if it does exclude sale/clearance items). Let's hope that's not the case!

I know some stores in Michigan didn't get the sale prices.

Right now things are SO SO SO funky with rite aid. This is going to be totally YMMV. I got a letter from customer service from Carrie and we had quite a long conversation via email. One of my questions was if I were to buy 20 dawn dishsoaps would I be able to use 20 coupons. The answer was that the store has the limit what is sold BUT if they allow me to purchase 20 dawn dishsoaps then I should be able to use one coupon on each product. However even when I showed the store manager the letter, he said he is doing what he is told and has chose to ignore the written letter. And forget trying to contact anyone outside the general customer service contact phone number. I have written and called so many times I have lost track and I have YET to hear from 1) Our district manager who seems to be MIA 2) The regional VP 3) Loss prevention
My letters and phone calls have never even been acknowledged thus far. Heck, my store manager doesn't even know who is in charge anymore. Unfortunately, I think we are going to hear more stories like this until Rite Aid gets bought out by someone or completely goes under altogether.
Rite Aid is a total and complete mess. I can't imagine that they will be staying in business -- they don't have a solid business model and no one knows which way is up. I feel like taking a ride to their corporate offices and doing a survey to see if they know who is in charge! One of our stores a few miles away just closed. This seems to be happening all over.

I received the $8 rebate ( $2x4) on the clearanced nail polish.

Every time we go into Rite Aid we say the same thing-- now I remember why I hate this store. Every time it's a different problem. Today my husband and I shopped there, and each bought over $25 so we could each use a $5/$25 coupon. We each had two L'Oreal nail polishes so we wouldn't have to have a problem using more than two internet printables. Unfortunately, the checker read the print that said 'one coupon per purchase' and refused to let us use two. Of course, we had the conversation about the difference between a purchase and a transaction, but she wouldn't budge. There was a long line behind us, and she was trying to be nice, so I didn't argue any further. In the end, the polish turned out to be $1.24 anyway, so it's okay, but the trip was frustrating. I will probably still go on occasion for the deals, but I do hate Rite Aid.
