Hi, I'm Betsy. I'm new here.

I took my second trip ever to a Rite Aid just now. The first was to switch my prescriptions there, which got me giftcards.

My purchases went a little something like this:

3 newspapers @ $1.50 each + tax =$4.92 on giftcard ( I already had one from home.)

Then I furiously clipped coupons from the papers I bought, right there in the store, because the cashier was super nice and said I could. And yes, I had brought my Fiskers on the trip in anticipation. I've never done that before.

Anyway, after the clippage, I did this:

8 packages Stayfree @ $3.99 each, BOGO
2 packages ob @ $4.99 each, BOGO
1 150 count baggies @ $2.99 (I needed some for packing lunches.)
ORIGINAL TOTAL = $25.93

-$5/$25 purchase coupon
-4 Stayfree BOGO coupons
-2 $1.50 off ob coupons

NEW TOTAL = $2.19 off giftcard

I am $29 shy of getting $50 purchase to get the $25 giftcard back, but I figure it's the very beginning of the month. I just wanted to see how this all worked, as I'm new to the system. I see from other posters that I was really lucky that the manager let me do the 2 free deal and just pay tax. I am planning to donate at least some of this to my neighborhood shelters. I tried to offer the cashier and manager some coupons, as they were so nice, but they said no thank you. I shook the cashier's hand and introduced myself. What a friendly lady! I was very fortunate.

Coupons used:

-3.99 BOGO stayfree
-1.00 stayfree printable
-1.00 bandaids
-1.00 bandaids
-1.00 wet ones
-1.00 banana boat (only had one of these, could have used another if I had it)
Total: $7.47 plus will get $1.00 back from Wet Ones SCR
Not as low as some of the others but not too bad considering the sunscreen is $10.99 each. I going to do this again but without the wet ones.

Do you get the gift card in the store or do you have to submit it like a rebate? Thanks, I am new to rite aid and am debating the diaper deal. My concern is that it's a very high oop.

TERRIBLE trip to Rite Aid. I had 3 Stayfree BOGO coupons and I based my entire order on them. I got

-6 packages of Stayfree (11.97 for all 6)
-2 packages OB (4.99 for both)
-1 Rite Aid Extreme Toothbrush (1.00)
-1 Rite Aid Whitening mouth rinse (2.00)
-5 packages Mentoes Gum (5.00 for 5)
-2 packages Band Aids (4.49 for both)

total: 29.45

Coupons used:
-$5/$25 RA
-3.99 BOGO stayfree (x 3)
-1.00 Band Aids (x2)
-1.00 Mentos (x3)

I was so excited about this trip. THEN, I go to the check out and the cashier AND the manager told me that you can't use BOGO coupons on BOGO items. I was so upset that I just bought the other items, did not (because I could not) use my $5/$25 coupon, and left the store. I don't know what to do. I think I will just return everything tomorrow, but I lost all my coupons that I used today. Ugh. Is it up to the manager whether they accept the coupons? Is there anything else I can do?

forgetmenot......sorry about your trip. I am currently in the process of trying to deal with Rite Aid. My RA has decided we can only use 2 like coupons (all coupons not just RA coupons) per day per family. I have YET to actually reach anyone that seems to know anything that is going on. I have left countless messages with promises that I will get a call on X day and then that day comes and goes with no call from RA. So then I decided to write them and got a response saying that I would hear something within 24-48hours. 5 days later I write them telling them I have yet to get a response and here is the email I got back:

Hello,

I see you did email our department on 6/22/09, but have no record of ever viewing it. Can you reply to this email explaining what the initial email pertained to? I do apologize.

Thanks, justmeagain. I guess I will try a few other RAs in my area to see if they take the BOGO coupons. No crying over unused coupons, though. Haha.

For the Stayfree Maxi pad, I saw in my store, a 22-count package (maximum protection) priced at 6.49 or 6.99, will it also work for BOGO promo? then using BOGO coupon on top of it will be more profitable.. anyone tried?
