Default Re: HCW policy change regarding in-ad coupons

Copy of email to and from Rite Aid regarding the use of coupons:
Please note ......you need to read from bottom up, couldn't figure out how to switch the emails around.
************************************************** *********************
Per the manufacturers request only one coupon can be used per item. If
you
have six boxes of bandaids and have six coupons, you would only be able
to
use one of the six as you cannot combine coupons of the same value. Now
if
you have different items, each with different coupons, you can use that
during one sale. Also, Rite Aid doesn't accept internet coupons from
any
other site besides ours. To obtain our coupons you will need to join
myriteaid.com.

-----Subject: RE: Coupon Policy

Maybe I should clarify what I am asking. If I
purchased 4 boxes of bandaids and 2 tubes of ointment
and had coupons for each ( 4 bandaid coupons and 2
ointment coupons) are you saying I could only use one
of the six coupons OR one of the bandaid and one of
the ointment coupons per tranaction? I have been told
that internet coupons are not allowed. What about
RiteAid's internet coupons? I would appreciate having
a copy of the policy and would like to know if the
stores are allowed to change the policy ..........I
just would like to know what my options are when it
comes to using coupons since I use quite a lot buying
items for my family and the homeless shelter here in
town.

Thank you so much for your time.

I'm confused - are they saying if I buy 2 of the same product and have 2 coupons (1 each of the same) I can only use one? Or, am I reading this wrong?

Thanks

I understood it as you can only use one like coupon per transaction per the manufactors request. Now they are saying the same value coupons, so I guess if you bought 2 boxes of bandaids and had a .50/1 and a 1.00/1 coupon you could use both. I had a very hard time getting straight answers from them. You notice I ask several times for a "copy" of the coupon policy and never got it. I think it is a matter of who you talk to and which cashier/store you use because I have used up to 4 like coupons without a hitch at one store while another store will only take (1) like coupon per transaction. All you can do is try to use the coupons and if they tell you no, do another transaction.

I created a new thread for my issue because I didn't think we were going to be talking about the same thing...here's a link to my recent attempt at a straight answer...

http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums...sale-b1g1.html

My question is if Rite Aid is so adament about Manufacturers not reimbursing them for "like coupons" what steps could we take to notify the manufacturers that in essence, Rite Aid is not allowing us to purchase their product because they don't understand how to read a coupon? Would it even make a difference?

I'm not only concerned that Rite Aid thinks I'm "trying to get away with something" but also with the fact that I've made several purchases at Rite Aid buying multiple qty's of items and using the same $$ amount Q for each item...I don't want to get an employee fired over this or be asked to never return to the store. I only have 1 RA 30 miles south or 30 miles north of me so it's not like I can just go down the street to the next one.

I see corey is the person who responded to your messages. I don't believe this person is a corp MANAGER but instead maybe like a rep who answers the phone and blah blah blah.........The reason I say this.........that is the SAME person who wrote me and said RA coupons are MQ's and therefore can't combine them. This person had "answers" and swore by them but they didn't make any sense. We are probably talking about a person no better trained on coupons than a cashier. I have always understood it the company's benefit to accept 2 coupons because the one that was FREE they are now being compensated for. Probably a better avenue would be contacting the manufacturer who issued the coupon........but then again you are likely to just get a person who answers the phone/assistant who is not trained on coupons. I'm sure if they didn't get compensated, the Manufacturer would put that on the coupon......something like can only use one coupon on a BOGO sale.......or something like that..........

Default Re: HCW policy regarding in-ad coupons UPDATED RE: IP coupons

I think it's funny how IPs were supposed to revolutionize couponing when they first came out and now hardly any stores will take them.

My riteaid will take all kinds of duplicates provided I bought 5 of the product I'm trying to use 5 coupons on...
