Nexcare Bandaids

I just came back from RiteAid Now I know why I never shop there..I have 20 coupon's to get the Nexcare bandaids that are .99 cent's right now ..my coupon's are for $1.00 off The cashier said she can't take it and called the manager he also said we are not aloud to take a coupon that is more the the price of the product ..I said just adjust it ..I learned that here thanks all..he I CAN NOT ADJUST IT ..I said I have done it before he still said no cause it is a manufactored coupon spelling sorry I am so mad ..he again so NO I CAN DO THAT so I left not very happy ..
Was he right or was I right? someone please help me Thanks

I have had this problem with RiteAid in the past, and so this time I emailed CS for their polcy, planning to print out the reply to have with me in case of an argument.

I wrote this:

I would like to know what the official RiteAid policy is concerning coupons
that exceed the value of the product.

Specifically, if I want to use a $1 off coupon on a product that costs 99
cents, how is that handled?

Unfortunately, this is the reply I received:

Whenever an item is on sale you can use a coupon on the item as long as the
value of the coupon does not exceed the value of the item itself. For
instance; if you have a coupon for a $1.00 off and the item is on sale for
$0.99, the coupon cannot be used as it exceeds the value of the item being
purchased. I also cannot say how other businesses proceed with coupons;
however, unless the coupon has been authorized to be adjusted by the
manufacturer, you are not supposed to devalue a coupon for any reason as
this is illegal. If the coupon has been authorized by the manufacturer to be
adjusted there would normally be a box to write in the value of the coupon
being used. Also, these coupons usually do not include a preset price as
they are adjustable. They may include a maximum price but not a preset
price. I hope this further explains this to you and if you need any further
assistance please do not hesitate to e-mail again.

So I guess all those other stores should be prosecuted for adjusting coupons because Corey says it is illegal!

I know that the registers will allow overage with no problem, at least at my store, but that is no help because I could only get a raincheck, so the cashier is bound to notice. I am hoping that they will work with me and just adjust the price of the product to $1, but am doubtful.

Take the RA ad to WalMart and have them match RA's price...then you should be able to use the Q's.

Went to two Riteaids today. The first the register stopped accepting the coupons after the 10th. The second only allowed two, but the cashier pushed the other 6 through. At the first I asked if there was a limit to the number of like coupons that could be used. She had no idea and just said let's try them. I expected the other store to be programmed the same and was surprised when it wasn't.

WOW I never thought of taking the add to walmart what a great idea thanks so so very much . and I told them make then $1.00 they said they can't do that either .hmmm

Ya, I was all excited to get the bandages too but my store was out so I was going to get a raincheck. She said the coupons wouldn't work because the sale was for kids bandages and the coupon didn't show them in the picture. Ugh!

I bought the nexcare bandaids and it was my only purchase. I was afraid the coupon would beep. The cashier folded the coupon and scanned it. No beep. I told her she was smart because she folded the coupon. She said it was a lot of experience. Then I skipped out to the car with my purchase. LOL

How does folding a coupon make a difference?
I bought 3 Nexcare at my RA, used 3 1.00 coupon. No beep. No problem.
