Rite Aid will match Walmart $4.00 meds

Maybe you all know this already..........but I did NOT.
I had a script and I had asked them for a price and they told me 9X.XX for 1 month supply. I don't have any insurance and had checked at Walmart and the med was listed for $4.00. So I asked them if the price they gave was for generic and they said yes. I still couldn't believe how the price was so I said....is this really the same med I can get at wal-mart for $4.00? And they said yes, but they would match the price.

I think you might have just saved my mom alot of time and traveling every month. She goes to WalMart for a few of her hundreds (slight exaggeration there) of scripts. I'll pass this info on. TYSM!!

CVS and Kroger both offer $4 meds. Rite Aid price matches, which is different. And they DO NOT price match if you are buying your scrip for the $30 Gift Card. Luckily, my prescription was only $13 (but I could have gotten 3 months supply for $10 at Kroger).

I've price matched twice (once for $4 monthly and once for $10 3 month) and have gotten $20 and $30 gift cards.

So I guess it ymmv...some stores do PM and give the gift card.

That really bothers me ! I wish stores had consistent rules across the board.

i went to albertsons to get a script filled to get a GC. But it was a $4 script. The cashier said no GC because the $4 was a "offer" and you can't combine offers - i.e. the GC and the $4 script.

Thank you so much! I'm going to check on this for my dh. He is getting his at Walmart now but the RA is right down the road. I will ask if they will price match and do the GC for the transfer.

Mine did the price match, the tech said I couldn't do the gc but the pharm said yes she can.
