Rite Aid is a drugstore chain in the United States and a Fortune 500 company headquartered in East Pennsboro Township, Pennsylvania, near Camp Hill. It operates more than 4,780 stores in 31 states and the District of Columbia, features a strong presence on both the East and West Coasts, and employs approximately 109,000 associates. Rite Aid is the largest drugstore chain on the East Coast and the third largest drugstore chain in the U.S.

Rite Aid began in 1962 as a single store opened in Scranton, Pennsylvania called Thrif D Discount Center. After several years of growth, Rite Aid adopted its current name and debuted as a public company in 1968. Today, Rite Aid is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker RAD. Rite Aid reported total sales of USD $24.3 billion in fiscal year 2008. In 2008, its market capitalization dropped to under $500 million. As of 25 February 2010, the market capitalization of Rite Aid was about $1.3 billion. Its major competitors are CVS and Walgreens.

Rite Aid currently offers its customers a store loyalty program called the Wellness program, +up rewards on certain purchases, single check rebates (SCRs) on certain purchases, and Video Values (VV) coupons after watching videos.

2. Wellness+ program

Earn points every time you shop. Earn one point for every dollar spent on non-prescription purchases*, and earn twenty-five points for every prescription you purchase.
*Points are calculated after all Rite Aid coupons, including Video Values, +up rewards, $/$$ coupons, in-ad coupons, and all other store coupons.

Member Level Plus - at 125, 250, and 375 points, earn a one-time 10% shopping pass

Member Level Silver - at 500 points, earn 10% off all non-prescription purchases every day and a free health screening

Member Level Gold - at 1,000 points, earn 20% off all non-prescription purchases every day


Wellness+ Limitation Details

1. Points accrued based on calendar year. Customers earn one (1) point for every dollar spent on eligible front-end purchases they make when they scan their card at the register. Excludes cigarettes, alcohol, gift cards, online purchases, lottery tickets, licenses, money orders, money transfers, prepaid cards, stamps, other mail services and items prohibited by law. Items paid for in whole or in part by state or federal health care programs are excluded (e.g. HealthFirst). Customers earn 25 points for every prescription purchased when they scan their card at the register. Prescriptions paid for in whole or in part by state or federal health care programs such as Medicare or Medicaid are not eligible. Prescriptions filled in NY/NJ are not eligible.

2. Passes delivered to members via email, register receipt, or mail depending on contact information provided. Members must present pass at check out to receive discount. When used with a sale priced item the customer will receive the lower of the discount price or sale price. Discount not valid on prescriptions, prescription co-pays, cigarettes, alcohol, gift cards, online purchases, lottery tickets, licenses, money orders, money transfers, prepaid cards, stamps, other mail services and items prohibited by law and may not be combined with any other offer. Offer void if member's card already gives 10% or 20% off purchases when scanned.

3. Discount will remain active through the end of the calendar year. Members will be informed of discount eligibility via email (or mail if no email address is provided). Members must present their wellness+ membership card at check out to receive discount. When used with a sale priced item the customer will receive the lower of the discount price or sale price. Discount not valid on prescriptions, prescription co-pays, cigarettes, alcohol, gift cards, online purchases, lottery tickets, licenses, money orders, money transfers, prepaid cards, stamps, other mail services and items prohibited by law and may not be combined with any other offer.

4. Members will receive a certificate good for one free blood glucose and total cholesterol health screening at Quest Diagnostics (or an equivalent service) when they earn 500 points within the calendar year. Certificate delivered to members via email (or mail if no email address is provided). Complete information on how to redeem free health screening will be provided with the certificate. Please note that free health screening is not intended to replace the care offered by your physician.

5. Members will receive 10% off Rite Aid Brand products every day when they scan their card at check out. When used with a sale priced item, the customer will receive the lower of the discount price or sale price. Discount may not be combined with any other offer.

6. Rite Aid reserves the right to alter or cease the wellness+ card program at any time without notice. Must be 13 or older to become a member. See store, website, or call 1-800-RITEAID for program guidelines and limitations. By using wellness+ you agree to its terms and conditions of use.

3. +UP Reward

Buy select produces and save even more on your next visit to Rite Aid.

Here's how it works:

1. Browse the RA circular for featured +ups products.


2. Buy those products using your wellness+ card.


3. Look at the bottom of your receipt for additional discounts.


4. Bring your receipt back to save even more on your next purchase.

Some Tips
- You can use +ups to buy other items that produce +ups.
- You can roll +ups, meaning if you buy Colgate at $2.00 and get a $2 +up, you can use that +up to buy another Colgate at $2.00 and get another $2 +up (assuming the limit is at least 2).
- For deals where you need buy a certain quantity to earn a +up, all items must be bought in one transaction. These kinds of deals DO NOT track.
- For deals where you need to buy a certain dollar amount to earn a +up, all items do not need to be in one transaction. These kinds of deals DO track.
- +ups are not attached to a specific wellness+ card, so you can use ones you find in the parking lot or with another card.

4. SCRs (Single Check Rebates)

*Use this link to sign up for the SCR program and enter receipts.

How Does Our Program Work:

1. Browse rebate items online or in the Rebate directory (found in stores).
2. Make your purchases, and save your register receipt.
3. Enter your receipt information online. You may enter as many receipts as you'd like during each rebate period.
4. RA will verify the receipt information you entered with the store and confirm your rebate online.
5. Request your check online, and receive it in as little as 2 weeks.
*This is called the SINGLE check rebate meaning you can request only ONE check per period. It's advised to wait until the SCR period is over to request your check.

5. Rainchecks

If a store is out of any item, you can get a raincheck. RA rainchecks are only valid for 30 days. Be persistent - if a cashier says "it will be coming later in the week", get a raincheck anyways. It's not your fault the item isn't there, and you don't have time to check back later in the week.

If a store is out of a SCR item, you are still in luck. Get your raincheck, cut out the picture from the ad that specifies the rebate, and staple it to the raincheck. This prevents confusion on exactly what the rebate is for. When you buy the item using your raincheck, double check that you've bought the right item, and be sure the cashier uses the "raincheck" key on the register. If your receipt does not say "raincheck", the SCR people will not accept it.

Once your purchase your rebate item on a raincheck, do one of the following:

Include your name, address, phone number, email address, rebate offer month, rebate offer number, item name, and amount of money owed to you.

Wait 2-3 weeks for processing, and check your online SCR account for the credit. If necessary, follow up by emailing rebates@riteaid.com or calling 1-888-468-4356 x2225. Again, be persistent.

*There is currently no corporate policy about how to write rainchecks when +ups are involved. Some stores will write the raincheck for the sale price without taking the +ups you earn into account, and some stores will write rainchecks for the sale price minus the +ups you earn.

6. Rite Aid store coupons

There are lots of ways to get store coupons for Rite Aid that you can stack with manufacturer coupons.

1. In-Ad Coupons
These are found in the weekly ads. They are only good for the week that they're found in. All say "one per customer".

2. Video Values
You can print RA store coupons at riteaid.adperk.com. You watch short videos to earn the ability to print a coupon. These coupons all say "one per customer" and print with your name on them. They typically are available to watch for 1 month and have a 2 month expiration from when they became available. For example, June Video Value coupons became available on May 29th, and all the June coupons will expire on July 25th.

3. Wellness+ Account
You can log into your wellness+ account online to see what is available for you. These coupons are for your wellness card only, and all say "one per customer".

4. Email
Sometimes Rite Aid sends out email with coupons to select customers. These coupons all say "one per customer". If you receive an email coupon, it is intended for your use only and should not be shared with anyone else.

5. Printable Links
Sometimes a link will become available to print a Rite Aid coupon that is available to the public. Once the link has been verified as valid, I will post them at this link. These coupons say "one per customer".

Rite Aid – Coupon Acceptance

To Our Valued Customers:

Rite Aid gladly accepts the following coupon types as detailed in the coupon acceptance guidelines listed below:

COUPON TYPES:

Manufacturer Coupons
• Manufacturer coupons are found in newspapers, magazines and even affixed to products. The UPC on these coupons begins with a “5.”

Rite Aid Manufacturer Coupons
• Rite Aid Manufacturer coupons generally appear in our weekly circular, on our website and are sent to customers via e-mail. These coupons are labeled “manufacturer coupon” and have a UPC that begins with “49.”

Rite Aid Valuable Coupons
• Rite Aid coupons are labeled “valuable coupon” and have a UPC that begins with “48.”

Internet/Print at Home coupons
• Rite Aid will accept Internet/ print at home coupons.

+UP Reward Coupons
• +UP Reward coupons are special coupons earned by a customer in a prior purchase that can be used for any nonprescription purchase with a small number of exclusions that are listed on the +UP coupon. Multiple +UP coupons can be used (subject to the printed exclusions) up to the amount of purchase before sales tax.

eCoupons
• Rite Aid and its business partners make electronic coupons available that can be loaded directly on a wellness+ card. The register automatically "rings" the coupon when the qualifying item is scanned.

Buy One, Get One Free
• Rite Aid accepts Buy One, Get One Free coupons, however only one coupon can be used for each pair of items purchased. A customer can use one “cents off” coupon (a coupon of fixed value such as $.50, $1.25, etc.) in conjunction with the item they are purchasing on a Buy One, Get One Free promotion (or with a Buy One, Get One Free coupon), although the value of the cents off coupon cannot exceed the selling price of the item. Customers can use up to two coupons with a Buy One, Get One at a % off promotion, provided the total value of the coupons does not exceed the selling price of the two items combined.
• Buy One Get One Free coupons cannot be used in conjunction with a Buy One Get One Free promotion or with a Buy One Get One at a % off promotion.

Total Purchase Coupons
• Rite Aid may feature total purchase coupons which discount the total purchase amount based upon meeting specific requirements. For example, $5 off a $25 purchase price threshold coupon.
• These coupons are accepted under the following conditions:

• The coupon is valid and in date; only one total purchase coupon per transaction.
• Total purchase equals or exceeds $25 before tax (before any coupons are applied).
• Coupons for individual items can also be used including another “48″ coupon that is tied to an item in the transaction.
• Provided the total of items purchased is equal to or greater than the purchase requirement, other coupons can be used in conjunction with the total purchase coupon.

ACCEPTANCE GUIDELINES:

General Guidelines:
• Coupons must be valid and in date; coupons cannot be exchanged for cash.
• Register will validate coupon through scanning or keyed entry of the coupon UPC number.
• In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Rite Aid will accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. Coupon redemption can never exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is allowed.
• When making a return for a product that had a coupon attached, Rite Aid cannot refund cash for the value of the coupon and cannot return the coupon that was used.
• Rite Aid reserves the right to not accept any coupon where the validity or the coupon cannot be established.

Multiple Coupons
• More than one coupon can be used on the purchase of a single item under the following conditions:
• All coupons match the item being purchased.
• The total of the coupons is equal to or less than the selling price of the item before sales tax.
• No more than one “48″ Rite Aid valuable coupon, one “49″ Rite Aid Manufacturer coupon, and one “5″manufacturer coupon can be used on a single item.
• Rite Aid may accept up to 4 identical coupons for the same number of qualifying items as long as there is sufficient stock to satisfy other customers within the store manager’s sole discretion.
