Cashier ripped off part of my receipt?

On Thursday I wasn't feeling well and went into RA to get some cold med. I purchased the box of Advil D in the back at the Rx and then I decided to buy a Reese Egg at the front since the cashier inquired where I have been lately. I ONLY got the egg and paid with cash. She went to hand me my receipt but she ripped the bottom off of it.

To be CRYSTAL clear, she took the receipt off the register then proceeded to rip the bottom part of my receipt off and throw it in the trash.

I went in on Sunday and I was talking with a different clerk that asked where I have been and I started chatting it up with him. I told him what happened and asked what she was ripping off. He said he didn't know. He asked if I had gotten my $20 reward and I told him yes so it wasn't that... He said maybe the survey, but were they doing it on Thursday? He said other than that he didn't know but did find it odd because he has never done that before.

Anyone have any insight?

hmmm, very weird!! i would look more into it if i was you, i probably would have asked her at the time she did it.

I guess the only way you might find out it to call 1800 riteaid and give them the detailed numbers from your reciept and aske them if any thing should have printed. Maybe and up or something that was not expected. I would almost think about asking her the next time I see her/ him at the store if you don't want to call corp. It seem just plain rude for a cashier to rip off parts of a recipet. Or unless it was from the top portion maybe a price/ modify slip or something that was still attatched to the paper. Really un sure I haven't been shopping rite aid to much latley myself. I guess the best thing you could do is ask the next time you see that cashier.
