Here is a new rule I was told that I have to follow. This new rule is not in writing anywhere and applies to EVERYONE. *I'm trying to say this with a straight face*

We are now only allowed to buy 2 sale items. However if it is a BOGO sale then I'm allowed to buy 4. This limit is per HOUSEHOLD

This came directly from the district manager.

Don't panic folks...........tomorrow it will change.

As soon as I saw this thread title I began to laugh! I feel for you, but at the same time it's just too funny not to laugh. I love that you don't take it too seriously and see it for the ridiculousness it is.

My newest store rule is that if a coupon beeps it's because it's not a real coupon. I bought some clearance items that rang up as "merchandise taxable" instead of Dove shampoo or whatever. I used a $1 off insert q (the item was $1.50) and the lady tried to tell me it was a made-up coupon. Keep in mind it was NOT an IP. Just a regular ol' newspaper coupon. I tried to explain to her that the reason why it couldn't be found is because "merchandise taxable" could be anything but I just could not make her get it. Finally she shrugged her shoulders and told me that she was pretty sure the coupon wasn't real and she'd get in trouble but she would ring it through anyway.

    Wow. Just...wow.

Is that, like, 2 of each item that's on sale? Or two total items that are on sale...

Geesh. Sounds like things are getting ridonkulous over at RA lately- haven't yet had any problems but figure they're coming.

Had a terrible experience @ CVS yesterday doing a Loreal deal- cashier made me feel as if I was holding up the store or something. Ugh.

As of yesterday.........it was 2 like items. So if something is on sale in the ad, example: garnier shampoo, then I'm only allowed to buy 2 of them per HOUSEHOLD..........so I can't even have DD or DH buy a set.

Yesterday I was given MAJOR attitude when I tried talking to the assistant manager and she told me "if you want to argue then I won't take any of your coupons"...........needless to say, I left everything in the cart and walked out.

That is why I called the DM and she informed me of the new non-written rule that supposedly applies to everyone.

I have to say that this is the first time I've seen a chain of stores that uses "unwritten rules" on customers. I mean, I know some stores do it (think Walgreen's) but this is the first time I've seen a manager actually uphold that. Yeesh. What we go through for some free shampoo and Scotch tape!

It's the stores that are ridiculous that I make sure to take all my returns to. For example, I grocery shop at Publix Supermarket and I drive right by the closest Publix to one further away because the close-by one has ridiculous musical chairs coupon "policy". When I do realize I bought a wrong item or need to return something, I don't take it back to the Publix where I bought it, I take it back to the one that is just silly about their policies. I did the same thing at Rite Aid earlier with the Aveeno SCR (which excluded all Aveeno products but one yet didn't state that). I had bought 11 bottles of Aveeno but when the SCR didn't credit and the SCR folks said I should have known it only applied to Aveeno allergy products (yet it didn't state that anywhere in the SCR bookelt), I decided to return all 11 bottles not to the RA that I like (and where I bought them), but instead to the RA that I despise since they make up rules (like no getting something free after Q).

well after i had to battle today with the assistant manager about using a $1 off two trident coupon with the bogo free sale she told me i was lucky because their coupon policy used to be 1 per person. What the hell? i only had one trident coupon. She really was trying to tell me that i was lucky to be able to use more than one coupon at all, period. jeez... i guess i couldn't have expected much intelligence from the person who told me i can't use the gum coupon because i couldn't get two items for free from it. Um, last time i checked $1.29 - $1 does not equal free

Boy am I lucky. My one RA is super-friendly. The CVSs are iffy, at best. Unfortunately, it's been CVS with the more interesting deals lately.
