CHEF What is on your Superbowl party (2012) menu?

It's that time of year again! We just found out what color our decorations were going to be yesterday and that means only 1 thing in my house - 2 weeks until our yearly Superbowl party that the whole family looks forward to coming to!!!

So, what's on your menu? (you are welcome to share your recipes as well) I'm still narrowing down my choices because I have SO many ideas this year - and with the smaller house, probably just about 7 guests instead of my usual list of about 12 - 15, so I probably shouldn't make EVERYTHING that I am thinking of! I'll be deciding in the next couple of days which recipes will make the cut and then I will share my menu as well -- or you know, probably get great ideas from you guys and make the selection harder on myself

    So, what's on your menu?

Oh hey the more the merrier absolutely, as long as people don't mind being a little crowded, I would be happy to cram as many people in here as possible lol!!!! We are already doing it in 2 rooms this year. We have some who like to come and eat and visit, but really prefer the commercials to the game, so I am setting up a table in my play room since we have direct tv in there too, and we will have crafting, because DH's family ladies are really good at that stuff lol!!! (haven't decided on our project yet though, I'll leave that to them, someone can just give me a supply list for my craft lol) and then in the livingroom, the game watchers will be out there, 6-8 will sit comfortably and I will have the best of both worlds as the hostess because I can pop a squat out here and catch some game talk as I run back and forth to the kitchen and then go back and hang out with the ladies as well. I so heart my party lol. Even though it's cold out and we are stuck inside and it is a much smaller party than my summer parties, it's just SO much fun!

since I care not about the game this year
we will attend the churches 'party'

They are holding a wings competition,
so if anyone has any tried and true blue ribbon winning recipes,
    send em over.

    Otherwise,
the Marketing/PR major will simply enjoy the commercials.

I guess we are going to a party for a while...maybe til about halftime because it is adults only. I will be making meatball subs for the kids. Even though the oldest two are teens 16 and 14...I don't want to stay out for the whole game. It is a school night/work night. Guess I'm getting to be an old party pooper cause I'd really rather just stay home. Hubby wants to go, though.

Okay here we have it. And anything that needs to be made with dinner rolls will be on home made dinner rolls because I priced them at the store and we are talking 3.19 a dozen. No thank you lol!!! Eat Cake For Dinner: Our Best Bites' Dinner Rolls

So here's my menu so far:

Honey glazed chicken and bacon bites Honey Glazed Chicken and Bacon Bites « Kayotic Kitchen

Swedish meatballs (to let set in the slow cooker to finish) Tide and Thyme » Swedish Meatballs

ham and cheese pretzel bites Ham & Cheese Pretzel Bites » Pennies on a Platter

Chicken cordon bleu sliders - adapted from this recipe, I will do it my own way though, just used it as an inspiration - Beyer Beware: Hunk of Meat Monday: Game Time Favorites

and then either green salad or my italian salad that froggie is addicted to and a cucumber salad as well. Knowing me, there will be other nom noms too, and a few people are bringing a dish, so we are going to eat very well this Sunday :)

Oh DH wanted me to also do fruit skewers or a melon salad type thing, so we will also have that. I prefer rainbow fruit skewers because they are beautiful and self contained on a plate :D Already got my colorful tableware and the fabric for sewing this year's table cloth which will later be re purposed into a backing for a baby quilt, because I only need so many solid colored table clothes and this one will just be a quick thin one and will be two and a half yards long which is more than enough to recycle into a quilt :)
