Has anyone ever bought and liked their powdered cheese?

I'm talking about the stuff you make mac n cheese with, you know, it comes in the box.

I'm wanting just the orange powder.

i got bags of it from grandpa's girlfriend. she got it at the salvation army in a huge box as they were trying to get rid of it...they got a shipment i guess.

try a food service supplier...maybe like GFS? i will say that it tasted just like the mac n cheese powder that you get from kraft. i gave some to my hairdresser and her son used it on popcorn.

We buy ours in a Mennonite store in baggies(tie ones). If you have a Mennonite or Amish settlement anywhere near you at all try them.

We use it on potatoes, cubed, with the cheese powder on them and then baked. They are really yummy. DH likes it on his popcorn.

    Good Luck finding some.

In my defense, I will only bid human beings in the auction forum if it's a MM.

I saw some today in the spices at Marsh. It was too expensive though. $2.50 and the bag was very close in size to what's inside a box of mac n cheese.

QUESTION Re: Where to buy powdered cheese?

    Hi,

Since we are Mennonite, I will tell you my bulk foods/spices "secret". The place where all the Amish/Mennonite stores buys their Bulk Foods, Baking Needs, etc. is a business called Dutch Valley Bulk Foods.

You can set an online account to buy directly from them without having a business. I do this all the time. If you cannot open an account with them, just look on their online catalog which will not have prices. After you view the online catalog, call or email Dutch Valley for prices or where you may find the closest Amish/Mennonite Bulk Foods store. Not all of Dutch Valley's business is for just Amish/Mennonite Bulk Foods stores.

They can tell you what other stores may have their products in your local area. If you cannot find the info, PM and I will tell you where to buy the same products online.

    Web site is below--enjoy!

Bulk Foods by Dutch Valley : Bulk Candy, Bulk Spices, Wholesale Bulk Food Distributor, Organic Foods. (Dutch Valley Bulk Foods' site/info.)

I have bought this before - still have some - it's called Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Topping. The cans are small - 3 ounces. Walmart carried it at one time but I checked the website and didn't see it.

You can get it on Amazon - about $12 for 6 cans with Subscribe and save.

Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Topping, 3-Ounce Cans (Pack of 6): Amazon.com: Grocery & Gourmet Food

You can also get the same sort of thing on Amazon from several different vendors.

Amazon.com: powdered cheese - Grocery & Gourmet Food

Amazon.com: powdered cheese - Grocery & Gourmet Food

Molly McButter also makes a cheddar sprinkle - you may be able to find it in the grocery store but it's on the 2nd Amazon link above.
