we had a little trouble with the size, thats why there is all those crazy designs on the sides and top, but it ended up turning out great.. especially for a first time. it was a big hit!! We had so much cake though, LOL

I am getting married and would like any ideas for Wedding cakes...I dont want anything HUGE...its just a small wedding....maybe 3 stacked tiers...no seperation....and nothing too fancy...I would like to have fondant icing b/c me and my fiancee both like the look of the smooth finish....I would love any and all ideas....also if anyone knows of someone who does a good job in the Lakeland Florida area please let me know...TIA !!

Depends on your tastes, but a marbled cake can look really cool for weddings, and it's really easy to do. Here's an example of one:

Hi All! I'm getting ready to make a "Mater" cake for my nephew's birthday. I'm planning on using a chocolate clay to cover the cake, but if any of you have any pics of one you've done, I'd love to see it! I think I'm going to pipe the other facial features with white chocolate (colored where needed). I'll let them set up on wax paper and transfer them. Show me your pics, peopl! I'm NOT 'crafty' or 'creative' by any means, but if my kids ask me to make something, I try and that's all that matters, right?? I had a great time w/my kids and my mom baking and making this cake. All the decorating I did myself. This was for Maddie's 6th bday in March. Her bday was butterfly and flower themed.
