Default Superbowl party menu - what's on yours?

We have our Superbowl party here every year - other relatives host other holidays, and I grabbed this one years ago since no one else had already (lol!) I try to have a really cool and delicious menu every year, make some family favorites that they always expect to see when they are here (cuz I wont give the recipes away lol) and then add a few new things each year. I'm taking a little more help from the store this year than usual, and that's okay because I'm just plain tired lately!!!

Here's the start of my menu, and I am hoping to get a few neat ideas from you guys to finish it out, as I am drawing a blank at this point. So, what are you making for Superbowl Sunday?

    Melli's Superbowl 2011 menu

    Crockpot sausages in BBQ sauce
    home made tamales
my italian salad (I've never eaten it, everyone here loves it though!)
home made hummus and pita chips - making the pita chips from store bought pita bread
french onion dip and chips (thank you grocery store)

So, inspire me, what's on your menu this year???

So far there is one thing on the menu....and actually I haven't even decided for sure on it....I am deciding between 2 things, but the same basic "theme".

Menu item #1 will either be: Mini Buffalo Chicken Pastries or Frank's RedHot Buffalo Chicken Dip

That is how far I am right now....how many days do I have to decide?.

We make buffalo wings...sometimes with wings...sometimes with drumsticks, but we use this fantastic sauce:

    Fantastic Chicken Wings

1 cup Louisiana hot pepper sauce (not Tabasco)
    1/2 cup Honey
    6 tablespoons butter
    2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
    salt & pepper to taste

Heat hot sauce, honey and butter in a small sauce pan and cook over medium heat until well blended about 5 minutes. Add vinegar and season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour half in bowl to be used for basting and keep rest to pour over wings when they are cooked.

Lay out 24 wings with tips removed in a tin foil lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle wings with salt and pepper. Baste wings with the sauce. Place on grill and baste other side. As you turn them baste again. When cooked place wings in a bowl and pour remaining sauce over and enjoy. The honey sauce caramelized and boy were the good.

...and I usually make homemade corn tortilla chips witha homemade tomatillo and jalapeno salsa

I don't have a superbowl party, but I have made Buffalo Chicken Dip for other things and it's ALWAYS a hit. At Christmas, my aunt had made some of those frozen Farm Rich meatballs in that chili sauce/grape jelly sauce that everyone does....and she also had some just in BBQ sauce. They were delish!

I don't watch football (GASP), and since I live alone, no reason for a super bowl party. However; I can always use that weekend as a good excuse to make a bunch of snack foods for Sunday. And I'm sure if I do the cooking on Saturday (the football game is Sun, right), DXH will stop over to take a plate home. LOL

Don't know what our plans are for this year, but our menu for last year was -

    Make your Own Sadwiches -
From the local deli, we bought thinly sliced Turkey & Ham, Swiss & Cheddar Cheese
    Mini Rolls
    Condiments

    Spinach & Artichoke Dip

    7-Layer Taco Dip

Fruit Tray w/cream cheese dip (store bought)

Veggie Tray w/Ranch Dip (we made, just cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, celery sticks & baby carrots) Dip is just 1 container Sour Cream with 1 Packet Hidden Valley Ranch DIP Mix (not the salad dressing mix)

Little Smokies (1 small jar of Grape Jelly mixed with 1 bottle BBQ Sauce)

King Cake iced in Black & White with Gold sprinkles.

I know there was other food, but thats all I can remember off the top of my head. I couldn't eat anything watching the game. Actually I think everyone was so on edge, the only time anybody ate was during halftime!

    Cool menu!!!

I've made chicken wings plenty of times before, and they are really good - I just didn't feel like making them for such a crowd this time. Maybe next year :)

I still haven't thought of anything else to add to my menu. Maybe today :)
