    CHEF Recipe/Menu planning software

I'm looking for a recipe management software. IF you use a program please post here the pluses/minuses of your program.

    Especially interested in:
MAC compatible - but I can run a Windows based one as well
    menu planning option
    shopping lists
    recipe portion editing
printing for recipe cards, cookbooks etc.
ability to add my own recipes
    ability to add photos

I've searched online and have a few that I'm interested in, but curious to see what y'all are using and how you like it.

    Thanks!!

You know, I'd be interested in this as well! I usually do my menu planning with pen and paper but this would be great.

oh you all did it now, dang it, I'm buying one ....

I did a google and found a site that shows comparisons on a bunch of them.

    Living Cookbook 2010 - TopTenREVIEWS

assuming I can include that link...

I'm buying the Living Cookbook, second on the list....I liked the features, price is ok, higher than many, but willing to spend for what looks like something I will use a lot of. I think my only wish was that there was a way to download it lol. I'm buying thru amazon with free super saving shipping, so will be a while before I get it.

and yeah, just spent a good bit of time reading reviews.

I had master cook, but never got into using it, and its a really old version that my computer said, 'you got to be kidding, you cant' install ancient software' soooo, it hit the trash can.

this does not have a mac version, but it does cover win7, and lower.

    hope this helps.
I'll let you know what I think once it gets here :D

ok, I have my Living Cookbook installed, messed around with it a tad last night, but still needed to finish getting stuff in the freezer, so did the last of that today (other than spaghetti sauce cooling as I type)

This thing from what I can see, will do just about anything you want it to do, except cook for you.

I went through looking at all the options possible, and just based on those, I'd say this is going to end up being my favorite tool in the house lol.

there's a set of 15 tutorials that run you thru the system, will do those tonight.

It could be more complicated than most people will want though, so far that is the only possible drawback I see it having. For me, that's not a problem, I need something that will do it all.

I'll let you know after I play a few days with it! So far, glad I ordered it!

Yes, let us know! I put the search for software "on the back shelf" since I'm swamped with moving and schoolwork right now. I'd still really like to see something or a Mac so I don't have to worry with Bootcamp or other virtual machine.
