CHEF Homemade chip or veggie dip, made with plain sourcream. Need recipe ideas please.

I found a decent sale on sour cream
but don't have any packets to mix with it to make dip
    for chips or veggies.

Got a homemade recipe that I can try out??

This is my go-to dip right now.

    1 cup sour cream
    1 cup mayo
    2 tablespoons dill weed
1 teaspoon garlic powder (more or less depending on your taste)
    Salt and pepper

Mix together and let it chill for a few hours. It is better if it's had time to get all tasty!

This is a bulk mix I make for soup and dip. I keep a jar of this around.

    Onion soup mix:
    2 cups powdered milk
    3/4 cup cornstarch
    1/4 cup beef bouillon crystals
    2 Tbs onion flakes
    1 tsp basil leaves
Mix 1/3 cup mix with 1 to 1 1/2 cup water for soup or 1/3 cup mix with a
container of sour cream for onion dip.

My MIL makes a simple dip that we all love.

    Sour cream
    Cream cheese- softened
    Season-All
    Garlic powder
    Onion powder

There is no real ratio. Just wing it. She often makes it with just the cream cheese, but I like to add the sour cream so it's more "dippable".

I know this isn't a dip, but if you have a lot of sour cream to use up, here is my favorite childhood homemade dinner of all time.

This isn't a dip recipe, but it is good.

    Grape Salad
    8 oz softened cream cheese
    8 oz sour cream
    1/2 cup sugar

    2 lbs seedless white grapes
    2lbs seedless black grapes
    2 lbs seedless red grapes

    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup chopped pecans

Whip with mixer the first three ingredients. Clean all the grapes and fold in. Pour mixture in deep dish. Cover with brown sugar. Sprinkle with nuts. Cover and chill until ready to serve.

I use the Splenda brown sugar mix, and no one in the family knows the difference. Its also not as sweet as it sounds, and is very refreshing.

    I hope you enjoy!!
