Your favorite easy dessert

Just a suggestion for your cookies that always turn out flat - try adding some additional flour. Bake a sheet & if you want them puffier, add a little more flour. I always do this, I hate flat cookies too.

This is what you want. I promise. Fool-proof and YUM!! I don't know what the "real" name is. Less than 10 minutes prep, ready in less than 1 hour.

You need:

2 (or 4) cans fruit pie filling
1 cake mix that complements the pie filling
1 stick butter (or margarine)

Spray a 9x9ish pan with no stick spray. Pour the pie filling in. Pour DRY cake mix over pie filling. Melt the stick of butter and pour over. Bake at 375 about 40 minutes. Let sit about 20 minutes and the top will get crunchy.

You can also use 3 or 4 cans of pie filling and do in a 9x13 pan. There is still plenty of cake mix. Sometimes I do half a pan with apple and half with cherry and use a yellow cake mix. Spice cake is especially good over apple pie filling. Endless combinations.

We call that a dump cake. That is exactly the recipe when i think of quick and easy.

Sprinkle 1 box cake mix on top and pat it down so top is evenly flat. slice 1 1/2 sticks of butter and place slices on top of cake mix. sprinkle with nuts of your choice. This is the best and easiest cake ever...

LOL, I thought that might be another name for it in one of its infinite variations! When we were little we called it "pie-cake" since it was part each of those. Now we call it "ugly dessert" because it's kind of homely.

I'd have never thought of combining cherries and pineapple and we don't even bother flattening it. I made it once with frozen peach slices - they were a bit firm but it was still good.

Mint Chocolate Marshmallows

Melt chocolate (can be done in microwave if preferred)
Add a couple drops of peppermint oil
Add minature marshmallows
Stir to coat and drop on wax or parchment paper

I do both white and dark peppermint bark with crushed candy canes too~quick, easy and loved.
