What to serve with Kraut & Weiners?

DH was recently diagnosed with diabetes. There are a lot of foods that he will not eat, but he will eat kraut & weiners, which he can have on his diet.

What do you suggest to serve with it? It must be low carb/low sugar foods, but I simply can not think of anything else to serve with it.

Anyone have some ideas?

throw some carrots in there with the kraut & weiners, I am sure he may be able to have a few small red potatoes with the skins on, if so put those in there too. Give him a side dish of some steamed snap peas with it.
