I wouldn't think so, but when in doubt, call the 1-800 number on the back of the form and ask.

I have lots of rebates for deli items. Does block cheese or shredded cheese count as a deli item? I don't want to send off a bunch of rebate only to have them rejected! And we buy a lot of block cheese then cut it up ourselves.
Any thoughts?

Deli items to me are food bought at the deli where the item shows up as a deli purchase on the receipt.
I'm with the other gals on this one, needs to be bought behind the deli counter. As said before though you could always call the 1800 number to clarify - they would know for sure.
I have used cheese platters because they were from the deli. Used deli sliced cheese too, but on this I would call since it really depends on the sponsor company for the rebate.
I used 2048 q's FEB 2011 because of SFShopper

I have used block cheese (like Cabot, which is sold at the deli or in the dairy case) with no problems. A lot depends on where the rebate is going (El Paso is usually really flexible, Inmar can be super tough, even rejecting things that are fine!)
When it doubt, call or err on the side of caution!
I called the company and was told that cheese is considered a deli item, so block, shredded, or pre-sliced was fine as well as prepackaged lunch meats. This is for the Coors Hormel/Deli $8/$15 rebate that is out right now. Thought you might want an update!
