Fake Centrum rebate??

On July 24 I mailed in for a $5 Centrum rebate that expired 8/15/09. My friend also sent hers in around the same date. She recently got a letter from Centrum advising there was a problem with the rebate. When she called the phone number on the letter they told her that the rebate form was fake, that someone must have posted a fake form on the internet (even though the web address of the form started with www.centrum.com. I cant remember if we got the form directly from the Centrum website or from a link from a blog.) The rep said they would send the rebate check anyways and they took my friend's info. I haven't gotten this letter or the check yet. Has anyone else had this problem? The address on the rebate was Centrum Mail In Rebate, Offer #531-1, P.O. Box 751949, El Paso TX 88575-1949.

I haven't had this problem, but I can tell you that there was an actual rebate form in an insert for this offer, going to that exact address. They may have not had a valid printable version of the form (so the one you found was fake, with the actual information on it though). At least Centrum is going to honor your rebates though.

After speaking with the Centrum rebate rep, I think that is what happened - there was an actual form published in the coupon inserts or a magazine and someone scanned and posted it, and I sent in the scanned form. They were very nice about it and I should be getting the rebate check.

First, with the $9.99 Centrum Cardio rebate offer ...

I received a letter stating that I had already made a submission and that they were denying this submission because there is a limit of one per address.

Then, with the $5.00 Centrum Silver rebate offer ...

I received a letter stating that I did not or not include the correct UPC.

Well, I keep very detailed records for all of my rebate submissions by scanning instead of making photocopies.

I give the graphic (.jpg) files intelligent names like:

20090815_000500_centrum_silver_rebate_01.jpg

After calling, long story short:

Issue #1) The duplicate submission never happened, looks like a clerical error.

Issue #2) After reviewing my submission, it looks like I did submit a valid UPC for the $5.00 rebte, they will be mailing out the check, pronto.

I sent this in and have yet to hear anything either. I hate shady rebates! I sent in the form right from the coupon insert, so I know that's not my issue.
