HELP So how often did YOU goof up a MIR form when you began rebating?

I just began about a month ago to really do rebates. I always was so stressed when I did them when they didn't come back or when they came back saying I did something wrong, when I hadn't that I didn't feel it was worth it. Now I have told myself all you people who do loads of these can't be wrong!!

So just this week I got back TWO NBPN forms back because I forgot to sign & add my birthdate. Now I am trying not to stress that I have to send them back with another stamp. I just was introduced to beer rebates a little while back and think they are great--especially because I live in NC and there is NBPN.

So if anyone can encourage me to hang in there, that I am not the only one (?) who goofs once in a while, and that even if I only get 80% of them back I am going to make a profit?? Any words of experience or wisdom will be a great encouragement.

    Thanks to all of you!!

I'm bad for looking over stuff and missing important info, too. Just make sure when you start filling them out, that you have enough time to READ over all of it. Take a second glance at it after you've filled it out, scan it for records...then send it out. I've only had a 2 or 3 returned to me out of maybe 40 .

IMO, The more you do, the easier they become! I hardly ever get beer rebates back. Now wine tag rebates are a totally different story but I think it is great that you are doing rebates since you live in a NBPN state. I live in AL which is also a NBPN state and I am so thankful. It makes going to the mail box each day so much fun!
Hang in there! You will get the hang of it.

When I first started, I had a few sent back. Even now, after doing 100's of them, I get one back every once in a while. Just read...and re-read...every bit of the form, and double-check your receipts and UPCs before you seal the envelope. Just hang in there...it'll get easier!

Something I will add is, if you get one sent back that says you didn't qualify for whatever reason, especially if you feel it's incorrect, call the number on the post card. I haven't been doing this for long, but I've gotten a couple back, and when I called them and said I felt that wasn't right, they said okay, since you're a valuable customer, we'll put it on through. So don't give up!

I almost goofed yesterday... was sealing up an envie... and went to reach for something else on the desk... and the UPC code had fallen out of the envie...

Goofs happen... but over time you will get better...

My biggest issue is remembering to buy it on a seperate receipt to mail it in... and to get a filler item if I have a coupon for the rebated items....

when I first started i made tons of mistakes and lost losts of money. Now I have a system. I think everyone who rebates should have a system. My Mom used a clipboard. I put photocopies in a folder. I keep an excel spreadsheet that show what I am owed, how much it is, what date I mailed it out, and when it is due. If I notice a past due, I start the rigorous contacting procedure. That is the hardest part - following up.

I am convinced that rebate programs are banking on you forgetting to submit the rebate or not having time or patience to follow up when it conveniently doesn't show up. It happens too often for me to think it is a coincidence.

That known, get a system and be rigorous with the followup.

Rebates are a great way to try new products for only 42 cents and tax. However, boy o boy they require a ton of work.
