The WT did not say WPN or NWPN and there were no state restrictions.

Mine got returned stating I did not purchase the required alcohol product. I called the number & they said certain states are required to purchase the alcohol and others are not. She said my state is required.

I asked how I was supposed to know that if it's not printed anywhere on the WT & she said the WT are distributed to different areas of the country & would receive the correct WT.

Is this a lost cause?

you could try calling again & maybe get someone that gives you a different answer ~ otherwise ~ yes most likely a lost cause ~

You could try to call again, but I would say lost cause too. I got one returned back in Dec (think it was a chicken rebate). There were no state restrictions and NWPN on the tag. I got a denial postcard saying rebate invalid in LA. I called the 800 on the postcard, and it would either ring off the hook or the line would be busy. Finally located the main wine co and emailed them. got an apology, but due to state restrictions, I would not be reinbursed for my purchase.
I fired back an email and said that maybe they should put which states the form is void in, so I don't go on vacation, grab a bottle of wine thinking I am eligible for a rebate in my home state. (ok, so I fibbed, I traded for the rebate, but they don't need to know that! LOL) Got back another reply stating that all forms say void where prohibited by law and that if a customer service number is on the form to give a call before mailing to verify it is valid in my state.
I don't bother with WT rebates anymore unless LA is specifically listed on the tag as a valid state.
