Hm, looks like they took off for the $2 pepcid coupon, as well as the $4/20, then less one penny ($10.69-$2-$4-$.01=$4.68).
Regardless, I would say you are due a $5.50 rebate check. Shady!

Background information ...

On the rebate form:
“Get up to a $5.50 refund check by mail on Pepcid AC EZ Chews.
Refund based on retail price paid minus one penny."
+
The receipt that I submitted said:
1 PEPCID MX EZCH 25CT $10.69
The amount of my rebate check was: $4.68
Q) Huh?
+
It was a CVS receipt with two other items purchased:
1 SFTSP SP EXCL 12Z $4.99
1 SFTSP SP EXCL 12Z $4.99
+
Coupons redeemed:
$1.00 for the SoftSoap
$1.00 for the SoftSoap

$2.98 ECB
$3.00 ECB
$4.00 $4.00 off $20.00+
$6.00 ECB

Not that I'm a pro at this, but it seems from the form, you should have gotten $5.49, "Refund based on retail price paid minus one penny."
Do ECBs show up on the receipt as coupons? If so, I bet they just used the largest coupon amount--the $6 ECB--as the coupon you used for the pepsid. 10.69 - $6 - .01 = $4.68
I can't be done shopping, I still have coupons left!!!
I got my check for $5.50 and used a coupon at CVS....that's wierd
In the Sunday inserts, that Pepcid EZ Chews rebate offer was printed next to a $2.00 manufacturer's cents off coupon for that thar product.

On a CVS receipt, a manufacturer's cents off coupon looks like:
COUPON 1.00-

On a CVS receipt, a CVS coupon or an ECB looks like:
CVS COUPON 1.00-

I will not let this go without a call to get it straightened out.

Is the time you would spend on hold and then trying to explain the situation worth the 82 cents you have to gain? I would personally just let it go.

I can't imagine why you didn't get the full $5.50. I got mine at CVS as well, using the $2 coupon as well as others and ecbs. Paid pretty much nothing oop and I think got ecbs on the Pepcid purchase to boot. I did receive the full $5.50 rebate. I don't know if I would worry about it either. It's a lot of hassle for .82 but at the same time I do understand the principle of the thing and I would be annoyed myself. Good luck. Hopefully they will do the right thing and make up the difference and send a coupon for free product.![]()

Believe me ... it is the principle and not the 82¢.

Q) If one lets this go, who knows what is next?
Q) What dollar amount determines a call to right a wrong?
I go by ignoring the dollar amount and focusing on the poor processing issue.

That return address of El Paso (it is Young America Fulfillment) has been sending me denail letters left and right.
I scan everything I submit and when checking my scans. I am in the right.
One time it is the wrong date (there was a date range).
Another time it is an invalid UPC.
+
I have a feelling the people that process these rebates are paid by the piecemeal and are very careless in terms of the code they choose when stating a reason for the denial.

Today it is moi, tomorrow it is the co-co-nut (a term of endearment) who is reading this post.
Gotcha!
