QUESTION Tell me: Satisfaction Guarantee Rebate Ethics poll

So how do most of you feel about sending in for a satisfaction gurantee rebate on a product that you haven't tried yet or are satisfied with? I'm going to try to do this as a poll, so please vote, and post your comments, if any.

I've wondered about how others feel about this, too.

I personally don't do it. While we are on the subject (somewhat), I also don't join trial offers when I know I'm not interested, just to get the rewards.

I personally don't bother. But, I am not hugely into rebates anyways... I don't think it's a huge deal, but I don't see the need.

I don't send it in, if I'm happy w/the product. I don't feel it's right. Plus, I'm sure dishonest folks don't help their product improvement, that they're aiming for.

There are many reasons to be unsatisfied with a product. Maybe you do like a product but don't feel it's a good value. For example I like high end razors but there is no way I would spend 15.XX for 6 refills. So it's not a good value and that is a valid complaint.

I think that this is not only unethical, but also falls under all the requirements to qualify for fraud.

If I like the product, I do not send in for my money back. I do, however, email the company to compliment them. Let's face it....if everyone who LOVED the product, sent for their money back, the mfg would think it had poor customer satisfaction. they'd either change it, or take it off the market. So, what would you gain by lying?

I like TMFs but not satisfaction guarantee kind of rebates.

I truely feel that honesty is the best policy. The honest feedback of folks with valid dissatisfaction issues could help the companies learn how to improve their products. I would only send one in if I were truely dissatisfied.
