CHAT Newbies - feel free to post - even Mods make mistakes

So here goes my messed up shopping trips for the past week. Let me preface to say: I AM TIRED (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it)

2/4, on our way BACK from Disney - I had to run into P to get my DD a birthday cake. Totally forgot to use my cake coupon.

Wednesday, ran in to Publix TWO DIFFERENT times to finish off the BirdsEye deal - and to do a missed coupon for the cake. Forgot the cake receipt on my desk. 2nd trip in, forgot the cake coupon on my desk and....wait for it.......forgot the BirdsEye coupons in the printer.

Today, needed to do my shopping trip AND missed cake coupon AND missed BirdsEye coupons. Did the missed coupons just fine, no problems there. Did my shopping, no problems there. Come home, sit down to do rebates and realize I purchased Tyson Anytizers and Pampers on the same receipt (2 different rebates). Also realized I forgot to use the Pampers Publix coupons. Sent hubby back (bad idea, I know ) to return the Pampers & rebuy them using the Publix coupons.

He comes home with a receipt that looks like this:
    Grocery non food $35.96
    Pampers -$2
    Pampers -$2
    Pampers -$2
    Pampers -$2
and said the guy told him that receipt would be fine for my rebate because it shows 4 Pampers.

So, now I'm just stewing & fuming (mainly at myself) and aggravated at the Publix employee for even thinking that would qualify (DH says "you can't fix stupid")

I hop on here to post my great find about the Tyson Anytizers - and whaddyaknow - I purchased the WRONG ones. The rebate is for the bags and I bought boxes.

So, the Pampers situation rectified itself, but I am now out $10 for Tyson chicken.

So, moral of my story - newbies, please feel free to post. We all make mistakes - some of use make a lot of them in the same day/week

Thank you for this. When I first started, and even now when I have a bad week, this happened to me a lot and I felt alone in the messing up thing. It helps to know other people mess up sometimes too. It all works out though. Glad your Pampers thing got fixed.

I'm not new, but I am still kicking myself over a deal I did last week--20 Sargento Cheese, 10 Starkist Tuna with a raincheck, 10 Activia and lots of other stuff. In the register line, I realized I had forgotten one of my Starkist coupons. Not a huge deal--I just went ahead with the deal anyway. It was only a buck. I spent $57 and saved over $140, and I was pretty happy with myself.

Then the next day I was looking around and found out there was a Target coupon for Activia for $2/2, which would have made the Activia free. AND I had forgotten about a $5/$30 Winn Dixie coupon from my kids school coupon book. So I spent $16 more than I had to. I have been doing some crocheting and I keep thinking of how much yarn that $16 would have bought!!

Whenever you forget coupons like that you can take your receipt back to the store and they should refund your money. At least mine does. I doubt they're doing it cuz I'm so cute. I think it's part of their policy "Where shopping is a pleasure". It's worth a shot. $16 is a lot of miss out on. Good luck.

I thought about that but I feel bad about it--mostly because it's all competitor coupons that they would lose money on. If it was MQs I might.

But it's this kind of thing that makes me nervous about deal shopping in general--I'm always afraid I'm missing something (like the Target coupons).

Well, they're on sale again Target. With tomorrow's $1/1 you have another shot at cheapie/free Activia

I would be lost without a shopping list. My brother laughs at my list, as it's pretty detailed. I use the center portion (left over from printing a Q at the top and a Q at the other end) to make my lists and it starts with the weekly ad and rain checks I know I have. Publix on one side, Kroger and Wags on the other. Add in any reporter Happy findings (another site), and any late printable Qs that pop up. I include every Q and Competitor Q (I only have Target that actually puts out Qs) I'm supposed to use and how much they are and even an expiry date if they die during the week.

My "even Mods make mistakes" confession. It has been one hour since my last booboo.

Publix has $1/1 store coupon in their Yellow Advantage Buy flyer for I Can't Believe it's Not Butter. They are $2.47 each and I had 20 .50/1 mfg. coupons that doubled. Should have been .47 each. it helps if you actually GIVE the cashier the Publix coupons. Customer Service is getting used to me screwing up.
