Thumbs Down Unusual But Discouraging Treatment at Publix

Anyone else having a problem using more than one of the PQ's per transaction from the "Start Your Year Out With Big Savings" booklet? Had an incident today at my favorite Publix. According to my cashier & the CS employee called on to clarify, "Limit one deal per coupon per customer" is synonymous with "Limit one deal per coupon per transaction." Normally I would have just gone through the line several times, but I was purchasing Kleenex Hand Towels & Softsoap in order to qualify for the KC MIR & all 7 had to be on the same receipt. "Long story, short," got my items in one transaction, but don't want to go through that again. I always "fly under the radar" & am very conscientious...so this really "chaps my #$%. Publix's corporate coupon policy is very brief & leaves alot to be desired.
Feedback would be much appreciated .

The next time you go to Publix,go ask to speak with the Manager. Let him know exactly what happened that way he/she can retrain the cashiers & CS.

"Limit one deal per coupon per customer" means you have to have (1) coupon per item. That is what I was told by 2 local Publix managers. I even called corporate to verify what the managers told me.

    Hope this helps.

I had no problem today buying 28 boxes of kleen-x using the $1/2 coupons, with the $10 publix card rebate, they end up being only 40 cents a box!!!!
hope you have better luck next time

Ha! I clicked on this topic to see if you were someone in my area- suddenly the store manager (who can be a real... 'not-nice' person) has been really silly about his couponing beliefs when it comes to wording on the coupons. Whats worse is what he said to one of his employees (who is a friend and fellow church member) about my use of coupons (which I ASSURE you is completely following the rules- no more than 4 like coupons per transaction, etc.)... Couldn't believe it, then on my next trip into his store he came to the register when a coupon unexpectedly beeped and explained he'd push it through 'this time' since I'm a regular. What the? He pushed it through because I purchased the qualifying product and size and followed the rules on the coupon and their policy- this had nothing to do with my being a regular. My jaw dropped. Ugh! I need a new regular store where I'm not given a dirty look because I use a large amount of coupons on every transaction... Cashiers there cheer me on to see how low I can go- what a party pooper he is!

Sorry, done stealing this post and ranting about my recent discouraging treatment! :-(

I have not had a problem since that wording was eliminated from the yellow & green flyers. I did not have a problem with this particular booklet either.

However, prior to them removing that wording from the Adv. Buy Flyers, that's how my store interpreted it also. It didn't matter if I was buying 6 Vitamin A, 6 vitamin D, 2 Vitamin B, I could still only use 1 Sundown coupon PER DAY.

Knock on wood, your store was just having a bad day. I would also double check with your store manager though - cause we all know a lot of employees (and CS people) can sometimes be uninformed. I, personally, have had the same conversation with the same CS person, no less than 12 times regarding "overage" coupons and yet she still says "how can we give you $7 on a $5.99 item".

    OP
Sorry you are having a hard time. I firmly believe couponing is a numbers game. Even if you are playing by the rules and using coupons correctly - some times you run into some deal jealous management and cashiers. Wait them out. Most stores get back to them selves after a lot of complaints.

    thomascaldwell,
So feel your pain. That manager use to have my phone number and would call me at home and ask about upcoming deals and scenarios. Then he started making up stupid rules and stayed awake at night trying to figure out ways not to take coupons. At least that's the way it came across to me.
I try NOT to shop his store unless it's something I need from multiple stores.

I swear he does! I would go to another store, but this one is closest to me. We just might have to try exit 10 if they accept Target and Winn-Dixie, until the Piggly Wiggly coupon returns that is! :-) Hope all's well for you and your family!
