First and foremost, what stores does your Publix accept as competitors?
What she said
Not all stores carry the CWS trial size. Only 1 of my immediate local 4 carry them & they are not with the other trial size. They are in a little box, in a shelf tray, next to the regular CWS.

Save A Lot, Big Lots, Target, and windixie. I would really love to learn how to do this, I am couponing for a fairly large family, and I'm a broke college studentso it would be awesome if I could learn to shop like you. Right now my savings is only around 45% at best and I'd love to really get that down. One problem I seem to have is that I cannot find a lot of inserts, I am going to see if I can find a recycling center that has some but is that a guarantee that I'll be able to get huge overages?
How can the cashier effect overages?
All I can suggest is to develop a great relationship with your Store Manager. Unfortunately, although it is Publix official policy to give full value of the manufacturer's coupon, they seem to refuse to actually put it in writing that Joe Q Public can have access to.
It is in the official coupon policy (the long version) that the store managers have. However, many store managers don't know it, don't understand it and are a bit stubborn.
It took me many moons & many phone calls to my store manager and the Retail Services Coordinator in my area to get my Publix management on the same page. It took many more moons to get my favorite cashiers on the same page as management. (Yes, I literally feel like I trained my Publix).
With that being said, when I went on Tuesday, I had a CS person still question "how can we give you $7 for a coupon on a product that only is $5.99" - and she's NOT NEW.
I certainly would not expect to run into the store with a ton of overage coupons all at once though - especially if I did not have a relationship with my store.
I make many many many trips per week (I do understand everyone cannot do that though). Typically, I go on M-W-F. I also (normally) do not use more than 4-6 overage coupons (irregardless of the $$ amount) per trip.
