    Default Publix Vent

I read on here that RR were accepted at Publix per "Manager's guide" and so far I've asked at 2 stores and only 1 accepts them. That one store advised me of one policy yesterday then applied another one today wasting my time and annoying the customers behind me in line for the delay.

I don't appreciate getting 2 different stories from same store from one day to the next and the other store didn't even look it up just declined "walgreens coupon" after I explained multiple times and even pointed to "manufacturer coupon" on the RR for clarification. Oddly enough when I emailed comments on great service and question about RR they thanked me for praise but advised they'd forward question on. So, maybe it's different per store?

What is everyone else's experience? Yesterday I was told I could use multiples towards any item without a manufacturer's coupon but not to create overage. Today they said 1 per order but then went ahead and changed that while processing order to 1 of each denomination per order. I don't mind playing by their rules it would just be nice to have that clear.

I think I'll try asking store manager of 3rd store and get him to give me something in writing since he seemed more knowledgeable/reasonable on my last visit.

Unfortunately, whenever a new policy comes out - a learning curve is in place. The Manager's Guide to the policy is HUGE. Instead of asking at 3 different Publix, I would suggest calling the one you frequent most and ask the actual store manager (not the ASM or CSM) for a meeting. Ask him to review the manager's guide on this new policy - specifically for the RR section.

Misinformation and lack of understanding are rampant. A lot of the times the person *thinks* that the Walgreens RR is a Walgreens coupon - and they do not accept pharmacy coupons. However, the Walgreens RR is a Catalina and the policy states they will accept Catalinas irregardless of store logo - as long as it says Manufacturer's Coupon on it. A lot of stores participate in the Catalina program (Albertson's, Kroger (I think), etc). Walgreens is included. The confusion lies because technically Walgreens is a pharmacy while Albies & Kroger, etc., are grocery stores.

In addition, there are 2 different types of Catalinas. Store coupon Catalinas and Manufacturer's coupon catalinas. Store coupon Cats will NOT be accepted, unless it is generally accepted as a competitor.

The manufacturer's catalinas - ESPECIALLY AT WALGREENS NOW - can indicate redeemable ONLY at xyz store or just redeemable AT xyz store. The ONLY at ones are supposed to be treated as a competitor. So, if you have a Wags MQ RR that says ONLY at, then NO, Publix will not take them.

As with any company, you can generally ask 15 different people the same question and get 30 different answers.

Develop a relationship with your most frequent store & that store manager.

    HTH.

Some times it is a simple miss-understanding. Here is a story to illustrate

A couple of Florida hunters are out in the woods when one of them falls to the ground. He doesn't seem to be breathing, his eyes are rolled back in his head. The other guy whips out his cell phone and calls 911. He gasps to the operator, "My friend is dead! What can I do?" The operator, in a calm soothing voice says, "Just take it easy. I can help. First, lets make sure he's dead."
... There is a silence, then a shot is heard. The guy's voice comes back on the line. He says, "OK, now what?"

    LOL...

I got a call back with reference to my email and assistant manager explained RR are allowed and that the new policy may have confused some people but it was meant to clarify and remove the hassle of store by store discrepancies. She stated its 1 publix q and 1 man q per item so RR could be used for any items not already having Man Q and no limit per order otherwise. And that all their cashiers have been trained however that if any problems arise an onsite manager/customer service head would be able to advise cashier correctly.

Let's just hope it goes smoothly next week. I wonder if the manager at other store will get reimbursed since she took 2 manufacturer coupons per item on a few orders based on her version of policy.

So now the question is which catalinas from Wags are producing RRs that don't have the dreaded ONLY in front of them? :)

I'm so not a WAGS fan, but this would get me back in there, if I could get RR's that I could use off of meat, produce, etc at Publix. I don't have any WAGS RRs at the moment. Now, if they just took CVS ECBs, I'd be golden! :)
