Publix: New member questions

Okay Cathy, my question is do they accept Whole Foods as a competitor? What other competitor coupons do they accept? I try asking and get a different answer each time the only one I know they definitely take all of the time is Target!!!

There are some pointers in the following forum, but the best way is to contact mfrs directly or sign up for offers as they come along on places like here or facebook. There is an extensive list here if you would like to get on company mailing lists.

So I am new to couponing. I have watched my mom try her hand at this for the past few months and last week I tried it for the first time. Publix had alot of good things on sale that we use and here is how my trip turned out:

62 Items, a combination of sale, bogo, and regular priced items
Total Spent: $116.64
Total Saved: $87.95

I feel like even after I matched up all those coupons with sales, I still didn't do as well as I should have. Does anyone have some advice on a good way to get started so that I can make the most out of the coupons and sales that are going on? I live in Central Florida and primarily shop as Publix but I am not opposed to shopping at other grocery stores if I can get a better deal!!

Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

I would venture to say that you are doing quite well all by your self. That's a huge savings. My best advice for you is to check the weekly coupon matchups and hot deals in the wiki. Also check the green and yellow advantage buy flyers. Great coupons and great deals there as well. Also check the Hot Deals thread. That way you won't miss anything. Great job!

You are doing very good!!!! Remember it takes time, so patience and perseverance at the keys.

Ask your store (as the polices are changing shortly) what competitors coupons they accept, and if you can get the $XX/$XX coupons from Publix and/or another competitors, it will help you lower your oop.

Ask for rainchecks, sometimes I get better deals as we are getting new coupons each Sunday.
