Publix: Supply problems due to weather--Alabama

I went to two different Publix stores in the Bham area tonight to get more Yoplait smoothies. Both stores were having shortages of various items--numerous empty shelves, etc. Not store-wide, but noticeable. There was plenty of milk and bread, but I noticed things like cheese, some cereals and some of the specialty milks were running short at one of the stores.

I was told at one store they wouldn't have tomorrows ad and weren't expecting a truck before Thursday--all the trucks are stuck in Atlanta. I asked about the penny item and they said they didn't know what was going to happen with that. I don't know if the supply problems are chain-wide or just in this area, but I just thought I'd pass this info on.

I'm sure they are not the only store or chain that is going to have this problem. The only thing we will need in the next few days is milk and I'm going to see if my dad will pick up some in the morning. Mother nature stinks sometimes.

I went to Publix last night and they only had about 15 gallons of Millk left. Three large shelves were empty. They said the trucks can't get out of Atlanta.

We are having the same problem here in NE Georgia (Athens area.) All of my local stores are also on a limited open schedule, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. so you may want to call ahead.
