I don't mind the rules changing or the software for that matter. I would just like all the managers in my three surrounding stores to read from the same rule book. Just stop making up their own rules to fit different customers.
I spoke with the SM today at length regarding the new software.
Yes. There is new software. It has been installed at 1/3 of the company's stores so far. They are doing this in three installments; the first installment was completed last week with the first third, then the second third to be completed Monday, and the final third of the company sometime (next week I think?).
The second installment (and my store was included in this) was supposed to happen on Monday, but the stores were all sent a memo that the new software would be put off indefinitely.
When I spoke with the SM he told me he obviously knew about the software update but had no idea about the adjustments to the coupon redemption. We chatted about the fraudulent issue, and how the biggest part is people redeeming coupons for items they didn't purchase and I emphasized that most of us couponers would love to see them get a match-up in place with the registers, b/c then we would know we are using the right coupons, and perhaps get less dirty looks. lol.
He also said that he had been in on plenty of meetings where coupon redemption was spoken of, and that Publix was not interested in reducing the value of coupons that they in turn would get full redemption on. He said he would be surprised if that would start happening. I said, indeed it was and he was shocked.
I told him he needed to call me when they got word they would be getting the new upgrade, and I would come in with every coupon match up imaginable, and we would test it all out for them.He was all over that.
He then went on to say that they would be making changes to their rainchecks nationwide as well beginning January. He couldn't remember exactly, but thought that the new rainchecks would only have a ten day time frame to use the rainchecks. I indicated that would be a problem for most people, since all other stores around me that issue rainchecks at least give a 30 day timeframe to use it.
I sincerely hope they change their mind on that front.
I hope this helps everyone, and keep an eye on your receipts to make sure your store hasn't been "upgraded".
If you notice it, please check in this thread and let us know what stores you're finding, and what changes you're seeing!!

Another store I'll stop shopping at if it's nothing but trouble. I freaking hate WM, but with Target going to heck and Publix soon to follow, I will shop at Sweetbay (also take competitor Q's) and WM full time if necessary.
Sweetbay is the only place that understands the whole WIC stuff anyway. Nobody else understands the line that says, "if a manufacturer's coupon makes a cheese, milk, or juice the lowest priced item on the shelf, the WIC client may get that brand." and "orange juice with added pulp, calcium and vitamin D are allowed as long as the customer buys the lowest priced brand of that size and type." Sweetbay gets it though. I already cash my WIC there... I'll just start taking my other business there as well.
I still haven't heard back from my friend. grrrrrrrrr.

Thank you so much for the info, I'm not sure yet what to think of all this, or how it will change where I shop. I tried to rep, but must spread the love... :) Thanks again!

Thank you, thank you, thank you about the WIC at sweetbay.I have been getting the big block of cheddar cheese from publix (the only kind at my store that doesn't beep) since they don't have publix sliced american cheese in the right size and their computer refuses to allow me to get the kraft that I always have got before WIC changed the types allowed.

Well, I always have the coupon that makes it the cheapest brand when I get it, and no other stores are knowledgeable about how that works. I will get the store brand with no problem when I don't have a coupon. ALSO. I get the country style (lots of pulp) of the Tropicana OJ in the gallon sizes. Nobody else lets me even though they have no store brands with pulp. Sweetbay gets it, and I not only never have problems, but they have a sign on that one that says WIC approved. I love going there for my WIC. It's the only place I don't get treated like a scumbag for using it. Which really makes me mad because I *ALWAYS* use coupons for my WIC. My daughter gets soy milk, and I can get her 4 cartons of soy milk for much less because I always get those 1.00/1 coupons from coupons.com or the papers. I trade for them just to save WIC dollars; I don't like being treated that way, at all!

Wondering if anyone else has seen the new rainchecks. They are in use in my area now. 30 day time frame and limit of 5 deals per raincheck.

Ours have been 30 days, but our stores here limit to 4 deals max on rainchecks. Unless it's a 10/10 deal-I have argued enough about that, that I always get it for 10. How could they possibly allow people to buy 10 in the 10/10 deal and then NOT let me get 10 after they've run out?

Problem with the rainchecks is...what happens after 10 days or 30 days or Leap Year or whatever and they STILL don't have the item in stock?
