Default Publix: Albertson's as competitor's coupon

Just wanted to give you all a head's up! There's a coupon good from 8/20 - 8/22 in the Albertson's ad (front page) - I received it in the mail - but I bet you can pick it up at Albertson's. It's for $5 off of a $50 purchase. Since Publix takes competitor coupons, I thought this might be useful. I'm in Florida in the Sanford/Heathrow/Lake Mary area, incase that helps anyone.

I was reading that coupon yesterday, and in the fine print it states that the $5 off $50 is after all manufacturer & Store coupons.......has it always said that and I just never looked closely enough? Or is this new and Publix Cashiers might say something if I have a pre-coupon total of $50? TIA!

Okay, here is what the fine print says:

"Paper coupon must be presented. Limit 1 per customer. While supplies last. Coupon cannot be doubled, tripled, quadrupled, exchanged for cash or combined with any offer. Void if copied or transferred. In the event of a return, coupon savings may be deducted from refund. Not valid toward previous purchase. Items may not be available in all locations. Money Orders, Lottery, Gift Cards, Tobacco, Prescriptions, Postage Stamps, Alcohol, Fuel, Conveniant Store Purchases or Other Products Prohibited By Law. Coupon is redeemed after manufacturer's and store coupons."

Mods - what does that mean?

My store does not pay attention to the guidelines on competitor coupons (one per customer, before manufacturer coupons-stupidest rule ever by the way).

You cant get this (5/50) in the ad at the store. You can get it in the Wed newspaper if it has the Albertsons ad or in the mailed ad. The ad in the store does have the meat coupons though! (my store also doesn't care if the ad says "seasoned" or "angus").

Yup my publix does not have that policy either

I always give them the $/$$ first

If Albertsons really enforces that, it's just dumb. They are still getting paid just by the manufacturer and not me, but it doesn't matter because I'd never shop there

store by me just started new policy on comp $ off cpns.
The Albies wording applies to all comp cpns. I had a SAL cpn to use (not).
The cashier also started to say something about the Albies meat cpns but since I don't get the ad I didn't have her elaborate.

This wording means that the coupon is applicable only if the balance is $50 after all coupons are tendered.
The call on the rules of acceptance of this store coupons is ultimately up to store management's discretion, but for posting purposes here at HCW we must honor the wording of the coupon and have all posts fall within those guidelines.

My understanding is that Publix owns Albertson's. However, I would not try using an Albertson's Store Coupon at a Publix (Unless the Publix & Albertson's are in the same AREA/COUNTY). Also, SAVE YOURSELF a whole lot of problems at the register and just do what the "FINE PRINT" says on the COMPETITOR coupon. Remember, you probably shop at the same Publix over and over & you do not want them to think "Oh geeeez, look who's coming" and CRITIQUE EVERY SINGLE COUPON YOU HAVE! There are pleanty of DEALS out there, so you should not have to try to "GET ONE BY THEM". If everyone starts to "GET ONE BY THEM" then that's when the STORE POLICIES CHANGE and you end up ruining it for YOURSELF & EVERYONE! JUST COUPON RESPONSIBLY!
