Default Re: Newbie Questions for Publix Shoppers

I'm quite sure this has been discussed here before but I couldn't find it if so. Are Publix coupons just like manufacture coupons or do they stack like Target coupons and man. Q's?

This is an excerpt taken form a post in the Policy thread straight from the corporate office:

..."In keeping with our mission statement to be passionately focused on
customer
value we are required to follow the rules and regulations that govern
the
acceptance of coupons. With that you are able to use a Publix coupon
along
with a manufacturer coupon for each item purchased (BOGO would be the
purchase of 2 items) unless either of the coupons have a restriction
printed
on them."

Thank you for answering my question about the use of Publix Q's along with manuf. Q's. As I understand your excerpt from the Publix coupon policy, it is ok to use a man. Q with a Publix Q and also two man. Q's and two Publix coupons on a BOGO purchase as well. Is this correct? I just want to make sure I understand before I go in with my coupons.

Yes, as long as there is no verbiage on the coupons preventing it.

Does anyone know if you can get 2 penny items in one purchase (if the total is over $20)??

Or am I just better off breaking up my purchase into $10 transactions?

The penny item coupon says "Limit one deal per coupon per customer". I think that means you can only do one per transaction. Whether you're a new customer the second time you go through the line or not is the cause of much debate.

Yes, you can use two mfr coupons with a bogo sale (2 items), that is allowed and helps us maximize our savings. :)
I have a question about this, hopefully you can help. I am in the subs of Atlanta and yesterday I went and purchased 10 of the birdseye steamfresh veggies that were 50% (all the ones I got were .89 cents a bag). So I had a manufacter's coupons (.35/1 steamfresh, which doubled to .70 cents) for each bag plus 5 of the Publix $1/2 coupons. Well about halfway through the cashier stops and says I cannot take any more of the Publix $1/2 coupon because the they say do not double. I wasn't sure if he was talking about the manufacterer coupon or the publix coupon (I think he was talking Publix q). So I asked him if I was not able to use a manu q with a Publix q and he said no in this case the coupon said do not double and we cannot owe you money. Well they wouldn't have owed me money anyway since I had more in cart than just veggies but the store was busy and I saw the manager already dealing with someone else so I just gave in and said okay. I ended up still getting a $1 something overage because the cashier had already rang up 3 of the $1/2 Publix coupons before he stopped. I wasn't really caring about the overage but I did want my veggies for free instead of .19 a bag after just using the manu q.

I am still trying to figure out if I was wrong or not on my coupon use. Help! TIA

The cashiers are sometimes mistaken on the coupon policy and terms. Using a mfr along with stores coupons is sometimes erroneoulsy labeled as doubling.
The cashier is supposed to accept all of your mfr coupons first (one per item), and then as many Publix coupons up to the balance owed on the items so as to not go above the net purchase price. If the last Publix coupon exceeds the amount, it is supposed to be adjusted. I would suggest speaking with the CS Manager first. If you are not satisfied, go to the Store Manager next, and then Corporate if no help is available on the store level.

Thanks for the fast reply! This helps. I thought I had read before about them adjusting to the purchase price of the item. I was reading around the Publix forum about the different for handing the cashier coupons and I think I will start doing them over one at a time. I think both the cashier and I got confused by the end of our conversation. I know I had one manu q for each bag of veggies so that part I had right. I am certain after I talk to the CS manager that she can help me and I am sure she will tell me exactly what you just did! Thanks so much for all that you do!
