| Re: Where to find coupons in red Hi hon! Its not a dumb question! My mom always says that there is no dumb questions! lol..
Anyways, the red coupons are from various sources.. some are from inserts, printables, etc.
Usually it'll state whether its a printable or where it comes from and you can always check the database to find out more if you need to!

| Re: Where to find coupons in red I think the red ones are manufacturer's coupons(MQ) while the green ones are store (Publix or competitor) coupons. Publix allows you to stack (combine) one MQ with one store coupon.
If there is a date and letters next to the coupon (e.g. 10-04-09 SS), then that refers to the date and name of the sunday paper insert where the coupon can be found....in this case the Oct 4,2009 Smart Source insert. There is also RP for Red Plum, PG for Proctor & Gamble, GM for General Mills).
Another big source of coupons is the internet. When the matches are done there, they typically have a link to the site where the coupon can be found and printed. Most sites typically let you print two of each coupon and require a small utility to be installed in order to print. Most printables are coded unqiuely so don't make copies of them....that's a no-no.
There are also coupons available at many stores. They take the form of coupon booklets put out by manufacterers or Publix itself. Some of these booklets are hot as they have a lot of coupons and of course are free. At stores you can also find coupon tearpads on shelves, blinkies on shleves (these are the little plastic coupon dispenser), peelies (coupons stuck to products themselves), etc. Once you start looking, you'll be surprised how many coupons at stores you overlooked before you started couponing.
Home mailers are coupons that come in the mail....typically for folks who have signed up to receive "special offers" from various sources..or who have submitted rebates.
There is a wealth of coupons out there....just start collecting and organizing them so you are ready for the match-ups. The coupon database available here at Hot Coupon World is an excellent resource to determine if there is a coupon out there for a particular item.
Good luck and welcome! |

| Silly Newbie Questions Hi everyone!! First I would like to say thank you so much for being so helpful!! I just had my second shopping trip at Publix and as someone who use to pay whatever and not even think about it (and stayed BROKE because of it) I am doing so good with all your help!!
Now for the questions
1) Peelies/hangtags- How do you get these? I see them in the stores but don't feel comfortable taking them without purchasing the product they are on. Is this "ok" in the coupon world to do?
2) My Publix does not take CVS/Rite Aid $/$$ coupons. Or any of theirs as a matter of fact. Are there any grocery stores that offer $/$$ coupons?
3) I had my husband run out to get the paper last sunday. The only coupon book that was in it was the P&G one. No SS or RP  Is this normal? I feel like I got jipped lol. I went ahead this week and ordered the paper to be delivered hoping I might get all my coupons.
4) The sweepstakes that everyone is winning....how do you find out about them? Any specific place you go? Cause it would be AWESOME to win well, anything! lol
Thank you again!!

Jennie | I'll answer number 3. There is a schedule for the inserts, so not every Sunday has SS, RP, and/or P&G. Some Sundays, around holidays, there are no inserts at all. If you go to the Insert coupons forum, you can see the previews for them and look at the schedule. 2009 Coupon Insert Schedule: SmartSource, Red Plum, and P&G
That might help you decide if and how many to get each Sunday. Hope that helps! |

Is this "ok" in the coupon world to do? That's divided. Lots of people feel it's perfectly fine to take peelies/hangtags. I think there's a huge debate thread somewhere on here about this issue. It's going to be up to your comfort level. Personally, I don't go wild, but if I can use them, I do take a couple.
2) My Publix does not take CVS/Rite Aid $/$$ coupons. Or any of theirs as a matter of fact. Are there any grocery stores that offer $/$$ coupons? I don't know where you're located, but lots of grocery stores offer them. Winn Dixie does all the time. You can sign up on Save-a-lot's website and print them. Sweetbay occassionally offers some. Albertson's has a 5/50 in their ad right now. (You can email and ask for the ad to be sent to you if you don't get it in your area.)

There was only supposed to be the P&G this week.
4) The sweepstakes that everyone is winning....how do you find out about them? Any specific place you go? Cause it would be AWESOME to win well, anything! lol A lot of them get posted about on here. I've seen displays in the stores advertising them, and they pop up on websites, too. You just have to keep your eyes open, I guess!
Thank you again!!
