I suggest that you find a cashier that you like and train her yourself in how to handle your order. | I have a similar system to avoid a confused cashier. I actually put my coupons in small envelopes corresponding to the item I'm buying. As I put them in the cart, I tape an envelope to 1 of the particular item. I tell the cashier before he starts ringing things up that all my coupons are taped to the items so that it's easier for him. It is actually easier for me, too, since I don't have to sift through a handful of coupons while I'm shopping - each envelope has written on it the name of the item I'm buying and it's easy to find the correct envelope and check on particulars.
This system has saved me lots of trouble. I used to hate my grocery shopping because I'd always end up in conversations with the casher about whether or not I'd bought enough of each item and it was embarrassing. Now, there's never any trouble and the people behind me aren't even aware that I'm using so many coupons.
Just make sure you tell them you want the envelopes back or they'll trash them every time. Jeez, if I'm so obviously thrifty you'd think they would assume I would want to re-use the envelopes too! |
