Default Re: Newbie Questions for Publix Shoppers

Accepting Target coupons must vary by store. One told me absolutely they would accept them..."Mam the idea is for you to spend your money here". I asked before shopping. Another store said Target wasn't a competitor.

I was tempted to use the Food Lion coupon for the $2 off Pepsi 12 pack, I had it printed and everything. But, when I went to the Food Lion website, I realized there was not a Food Lion store anywhere around me. So I felt they really weren't a "competitor" if I couldn't easily drive to that store. Anyway, I did find out that my Publix takes Super Target printables!! That saved me $4 last week.

They said their policy is that they will only accept competitor coupons if they are under $1 in value. I've never heard this "rule" and they have always taken Winn Dixie and Food Lion coupons without a problem before.

They won't accept Target, Walgreens or CVS, but they have always taken other grocery stores, regardless of the value. Anyone know anything about this?
I would suggest talking with your Store Manager. I have never heard about any policy stating that competitor coupons needing to be under $1 in value. Did this come from a cashier? I would also ask him about the competitor coupons, and which stores are accepatable as competitor. Sometimes the cashiers or lower level customer service people are misinformed.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but I was told by a manager at my local Publix (Orlando) that they don't take any printables over $1.00. I did mention the veri-fi site and that didn't help. Is this just my store or have others experienced this as well? I am able to use Competiter Q's at this location without a problem.

Well, I checked yesterday at my Publix (Tarpon Springs) and was told, no they don't take Target printable coupons. They said they weren't a competitor. I guess there are no Super Targets near enough to this Publix. There is a Super Target in Clearwater, so I would guess they would take the coupons there.

Publix will only accept "cents off" mfr printable coupons, and not free item
printables at all. The Manager's interpretation of this corporate policy varies from store to store, and in this case I do believe he is within the guidelines of the corporate policy. I would suggest emailing the Publix corporate office for a clarifcation of this rule.

Target is very close to the publix that told me they aren't a competitor. In fact , closer than the Publix that will accept them!

Hi, and welcome to the board. This is in the yellow flyer with the flags on it called "Celebrate Independence Day" that is found in the turnstyle at the front of the store. It is on the back of the pullout section, page 6. It is a mfrs coupon for Save $3 on meat when you buy (1) Kraft Dressing 14 oz + and (1) Kraft BBQ Sauce 18 oz+. It expires 7/13/07, so not much time left on this one. HTH.
