Hangtags are found on bottles around the neck. You really just have to keep your eyes open as you walk around the store and look around for coupons and booklets. There is probably more information in the WalMart forum about the All You magazine and look in the Target forum for info about the Target mailers. You can find the Target printables under the resources tab. That is where the Target Generator is located.

| Re: Newbie Questions for Publix Shoppers Tomorrow will be my first trip to Publix. I will be in Moody Alabama for a dental appt for my son and will probably go to the Montclair Rd store (unless there is one closer or just as close that is better when it comes to coupons).
I normally have a LOT of coupons when I buy groceries, especially around this time of the month.
What do I need to know and do and not do, etc? When you talk about competitor coupons, does that mean coupons only or catalinas too or ... ? Can RR's be used there?
On the BOGO, can I use a coupon on the free one? Winn Dixie has stopped doing that so I have stopped shopping there as much. All that is left where I live is Wal-Mart.
Oh, how is Publix on situations where you have a coupon on, for instance, salad dressing and then a coupon off of meat when you buy salad dressing?
What about IPs (I can't remember after so many pages LOL) and what about cpn doubling? I am used to doubling $.50 and less at Winn Dixie but, until recently, was also used to using a coupon on the free item during a BOGO sale. Then, they started making it more and more difficult to use them for me and then just not at all a couple of weeks ago.
I am sure I have other questions and will post them when I think of them. I posted these in the B'Ham thread but thought these ?s could be answered just as easily here.

| Re: Newbie Questions for Publix Shoppers You will find that coupon policy will vary from location to location. I have two Publix stores each about 1 mile away and one gives overages and the other doesn't.
I personally find it best to ask to speak to the manager and ask them these questions. If you can build a decent rapport with the manager and they know you are not trying to use coupons fraudulently, they are usually helpful. Also, some of your questions are answered in the FAQ sticky.
Which competitors a given Publix will accept will vary by store location. Typically, if there is a traditional grocery store within 5 miles of the Publix, they will consider it a competitor and accept their Qs as store coupons which can be combined with Manufacterer Coupons. YMMV will "non-traditional grocery stores" like target, big box stores, drug stores, etc. Some Publix take Target and Food Lion IPs but not all do. I've heard of some taking RRs but that seems to be dwindling.
I have never had a problem using two coupons on a BOGOfree sale....I am in GA where Publix really just makes it half price. I think FL has a true BOGO free sale so not sure if it works there.
The meat/dressing scenario, meaning which item does a coupon attach to will also sometimes vary. Publix point of sale systems don't attach a coupon to an item like target so it all depends on the store, manager and cashier.
Almost all Publix stores double manuf coupons under 51 cents. I think the exception here is coastal GA and FL. They also typically accept IPs but sometimes not if it's over a certain dollar amount (like $5) or for a free item with no other purchase. Publix reserves the right to refuse any IP that looks questionable.
Welcome to Publix....it really is a great store with some great sales.....so you should be very happy, especially if you can establish a good relationship with the store manager.....they are very eager to keep you as a customer.

| Re: Newbie Questions for Publix Shoppers Publix Gurus...Can you explain this.
Went to Publix tonight and got 4 TB dinner kits, 2 Sargento cheese, 1 planters trailmix, 2 Thomas's muffins, 1 three liter water, and 4 Kens marinades.
I used one 10RR, one .55 sargentos wt, 4 tb 1.00/1 qs, and 3 1.00/1 kens qs.
Now here is the bottom of my receipt
order total: 3.39
sales tax : -.65 (yes that is negative) grand total: 2.74
(btw i saved 33.77 )
So how do you get a NEGATIVE tax????
Im just wondering:shrug7:

Im just wondering:shrug7: | This is just a theory, but the cashier probably entered your RR as a competitor's coupon for a taxable item. Publix treats competitor's coupons like store coupons, and store coupons take off tax in FL so $10 x 6.5% (I'm guessing this is the sales tax rate in your locality) = $0.65. Everything in your order was a food item, which is not taxed in FL, so you would have had $0 tax to begin with therefore subtracting the $0.65 yielded negative $0.65 tax. |
