The cashier called over the manager in charge. I'm not sure if he was the manager or not. He said they had a recent change in policy regarding coupons and there was a line behind me, so I said ok and left.

Does Publix has a set policy for using two coupons on a BOGO item?

I bought (2) Trop50 OJ today, one for $3.79 and one for $0.00. I handed my two $1 off coupons and she refused to take the second one. She tried to lecture me on how I was only purchasing once since the second one was $0.00. I asked her to please scan the second coupon to see if it would work and she refused. I got fed up and said "Fine, just take the OJ off." She said it was too late as she had already rung up the coupon so I went over to customer service and returned both OJ. What's interesting is that they reufnded the full $3.79, not the $2.79 I had paid (but I had other items in the purchase). I was very upset and could feel my blood boiling because I had use two coupons just the other week!

Did I just pick the wrong cashier? I bet I did, I was even so careful, I scanned them all over and she looked the nicest.

I don't see what different it makes -- they get reimbursed for the coupons!

After I read your post I went to publix to get the OJ. I ended up with two coupons and the cashier did not say a thing. I know I have done this before at the store. My only problem is that when I came home and tried it I absolutely hate the stuff. It tastes so horribly fake to me. I guess living in Florida I am so used to the real thing. I'm so sad.
I don't know what to do with it? Can I return a free item? I really needed orange juice and this would have been a great deal.

I need help, I've been at this for just over a month ... and having a blast. My Publix has been great about everything except they will not let me stack coupons. They refuse to except a manufacturer coupon with a store coupon. Is there anything that can be done about this? Or is it up to each store to decide?

I almost bought the OJ last night, they were out and handed me a raincheck. Maybe I won't buy it after all, it sounds gross.

I called publix corporate when my store would not take the publix coupons along w the mftr coupon. About a week later 2 mgrs called me back apologizing. It was great. When I saw the mgr the next time I made sure to tell him I was the one w the coupon issue and asked if I could get my $1 coupon off that they refused. He went right up to the cashier and told them to take an extra $1 off my bill. I can't beleive I had the nerve to do this but I did. BTW my husband actually likes the OJ so maybe its just me.

Thank you! No, I don't think I would have that much nerve for $1.
I guess I'll be calling corporate tomorrow. Maybe I'll call the store first. I'm always there at night because I work full time and have two babies under two. When I go at night I feel like I always get the kid managers.

It is definitely worth at least asking- since the savings difference when you are able to stack is so big overall.

The other day I was at publix and a lady in front of me was using Winn Dixie coupons. Where would one find these coupons? at the store? May be a dumb question. I should have asked the lady in front of me where she got them but didn't think of it them. Thanks.

I started scanning this thread, but it's soooo long. Could someone tell me about overage...
Publix has always given me overage, but today the cashier and manager (both new ones, at least ones I hadn’t seen before) both gave only item amounts on Knox and Pace coupons (ones i won). Now, here’s my problem. I love a free item, don’t get me wrong, and I am certainly NOT trying to cheat anyone out of anything, BUT… if I purchase a Knox item for $1.39 and have a coupon (not ip, an actual coupon) that states “$4 off any Knox product”, and the store gives me $1.39 off the item- GREAT! Free item! BUT, when they turn those coupons into their coupon clearing house or whoever reimburses the store, how do they know that I purchased the $1.39 Knox item and not an $8.99 Knox item. Because if they really don’t know, and the reimbursement to the store is $4, then the store has made $2.61 off of MY coupon! If anyone is making money off of my coupon, shouldn’t it be me, since it was issued to me as the purchaser of the newspaper I received it in???
erg. I’m irritable today.
