Last week my publix would not allow me to use my publix coupon along with a mftrs coupon. I even asked the manager. Is this common? I do live in Florida. Sorry if this has been asked before but my 2 yr old doesn't like me on the computer for more than a minute.

Can I use a Target catalina at publix?

I have a coupon on my target receipt for $1/2 lunchables.

Thanks!

Thumbs Up Re: Newbie Questions for Publix Shoppers

I am also in Florida and yes you can use Publix coupon plus a mfr coupon. Make sure its says Publix on it and the other one says mfr on it. I read that you can take a copy of the policy with you. Also if you keep the receipt and go back with the coupon you will get your money back. Maybe you just need to visit another store or talk to another manager.

Greenmommy, that is not correct. What part of Florida are you in? I would send an email through the corporate website (publix.com) and ask the same question. When they answer, print out their answer and take it to your Publix and ask to speak to the manager. Show them the email response and I bet that will clear things up.

First, take a second look at your Publix coupon and make sure it does not say "Manufacturer" anywhere on it. Usually Publix instore coupons do not have a bar code but a text code that starts with an "L" for the cashiers to manually enter. Hope this helps.

Thanks!
If your store considers Target as a competitor, you can use their catalinas at your store.

Default Re: Newbie Questions for Publix Shoppers

I'm not a newbie to Publix or to using coupons, but still I'm puzzled by what happened last night when I bought the Halls Cough Drops, buy one get one free @ $1.87. I used two 50 cents off coupons and my Publix has always doubled coupons under 50 cents as far as I know.

My receipt reads:
Vendor Coupon -0.50
BONUS COUPON SUPPRESSED
Vendor Coupon -0.50
BONUS COUPON SUPPRESSED

So those coupons were not doubled. Does anyone have an idea what happened here?
Thank you!

From what I understand the Halls coupon says Do Not Double on it. The barcode does start with a 5 though.

However, I just did an Internet search on that wording and found a post at another site. The Customer Service rep said that it said Bonus Coupon Supressed b/c the coupon said Do Not Double. This post was from March 2008.

From reading the other site, it appears that a cashier can suppress the doubling if a coupon says Do Not Double on it. So, your cashier must have done that. The coupon automatically doubles though, so the next cashier may or may not suppress the doubling.

So, basically, you don't really have an arguement with customer service, b/c the coupon does say Do Not Double on it. The cashier technically was following the wording on the coupon.
